Who am I?

Howdy! My name's Rob, but around these internets most folk call me Organics. I work in finance, I play lots of video games, and even speedrun a few just for kicks.

Why am I here?

I think I've taken a rather strange route into Wikipedia editing. I started out as just any casual reader, but one day stumbled into the Village Pump and found a wealth of discussions about policies and ideas for improving Wikipedia. This whole side of the community really interested me and it's something I hadn't know anything about before. I spent a good few months as an IP account, reading through VP, ANI, FAC, DYK, and RD (even contributing at RD a few times!) before finally deciding I should stop lurking and start putting what I've read into practice. Hopefully the policies and discussions I've seen will give me a good footing as I slowly start editing and contributing to this wonderous site.

Please do bear with me though! I'm sure I'm still a newbie in a great many areas, and I'd appreciate if when I inevitably make a mistake you could assume good faith and steer me in the right direction.
