Shuaibu Isa Lau (born 27 November, 1960) is a Nigerian Politician, Entrepreneur and a Philanthropist who is currently the Member of the Senate representing Taraba North, since 2017 till date. Early life[edit]
Shuaibu was born on the 27th November, 1960, to the family of Alh. Isa Ali and Hajj. Zainab Isa Ali in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State. He attended the Local Education Authority Primary School Lau from 1969 - 1975 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He went to General Murtala Muhammed College (the then Government Secondary School), Yola, where he obtained his Senior School Certificate, from 1975 - 1980. He further joined the School of basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1980. He obtained a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, from 1981 - 1984.
Political Career[edit]
Shuaibu Isa Lau is a grass root political guru, where he supported and effluences the victory of many successive regimes within and outside Taraba state from 1999 to date. Interestingly He has contested for Senatorial Election, Taraba North in the 2015 general election under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (Nigeria), where he became the flag bearer of the party before the dramatic maneuver that transpired then by some disgruntled politicians who stole his mandate in favour of the then former Acting Governor of the state, which culminated and left him with no option than to go and seek for redress in the court. He won in the court on 26 june 2017 and became a member of 8th assembly till June, 2019 and was again relected under thesame political party, People's Democratic Party, to serve the people of Taraba North for another 4 Years. He is the present chairman of the senate comittee on public procurement.
Business Career[edit]
Shuaibu Isa Lau as an entrepreneur, established and joined business ventures in Lagos, but before then, he was a class room teacher at Government Secondary School Jalingo, Taraba state. As a business tycoon and a philanthropist per excellent, he rose to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of many Companies, with particular interest in Real Estate and general supply. He is also a known crusader against corruption.
