Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe[edit]

In September 2016, the RGS distributed a set of maths questions containing a homophobic comment. [1] The question, as reported by The Huffiongton Post UK,[2] was:

If in a town 70% of the men are married to 90% of the women (and each marriage is between one man and woman, as God intended when he made humans male and female) what percentage of the adult population are married?

The question set was produced by a volunteer (a retired teacher who had left the school many years earlier);[1] however, it was distributed by the school's maths department and students of a higher maths ability were encouraged to complete the questions. Staff immediately withdrew the material after the question was reported by by the first students to pick up the question set.[2]

The headteacher apologized "on behalf of the whole school community" and stated that the volunteer concerned would not be returning to RGS.

The school made headlines on many news sites including the Daily Mail,[3] The Sun,[4] and many LGBT+ news sites.[5] It also prompted the response of several LGBT+ activist groups, many condemning the question, but Stonewall in particular praising RGS' quick actions to deal with this.

Temporary semi-protection: High level of IP vandalism. Meters (talk) 17:27, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

This is the title text

Hi, thanks for the note! Since the vandal seems to be hopping IPs, I think it may be more efficacious to simply semiprotect the page. I have done so for one month. Let me know if you run into any further problems. --[

Thanks Meters (talk) 20:19, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
Do you think additional blocks would be necessary? It seems this user's page blanking is focused, for whatever reason, on just that article. --
I suspect it will be required eventually. Someone took the trouble to write a polite, lengthy explanation of why the material should be included, and the IP's response was "Oh Blah Blah i don't care." followed by another blanking, a 3 week block (I might have the order wrong), and then continued blanking with a block evasion. It doesn't bode well for future good behaviour. I thought the block evasion warranted an automatic extension of the original block and a block on the new IP, but since it seems to be just this one article the semi-protection should work. Semi-protecting the article to stop one person on (so far) only 2 IPs seems disruptive to other IPs. I bow to your experience... do what you think best and I'l keep an eye on the Ips and the article. Meters (talk) 21:49, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw that on 71.55.201.191 (talk · contribs · info · WHOIS). No idea what this person's issue is, but that's often the way with vandals. I suppose we can block IPs as it becomes necessary. --

since Twinkle seems to be acting up[edit]

User continues to remove the long-standing status quo descriptions "parody" and "satirical". This has been discussed on the article's talk page, which points to the detailed FAQ Talk:Flying_Spaghetti_Monster/FAQ on the related page Flying_Spaghetti_Monster. User removed descriptions again after having been pointed to WP:BRD, WP:EW, to the consensus on the issue on the talk page and Talk:Flying_Spaghetti_Monster, and having been asked to discuss the edit on Talk:The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
