Senators[edit]

Just FYI, our rule for article naming on Wikipedia is that we use the person's common name, not necessarily full birth-name forms that they don't actually use in real life. So the correct title for Ms. Boniface is Gwen, not Gwenneth, and the correct title for Mr. Marwah is Sabi, not Sarabjit. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 14:16, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Impeachment of Donald Trump requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi McArthur Parkette—while I appreciate your "vote" at Category talk:People of Jewish descent#Remove, I noticed that you "voted" twice. Perhaps you could express your reasoning under the heading of one "vote". Thanks. Bus stop (talk) 23:02, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

En-dashes in date ranges[edit]

Thanks for you additions to the list of Governors General of Canada article. I have one request. Could you please read MOS:ENDASH. Date ranges, including years, should be separated by en-dashes. That means you would use 1760–1786, not 1760-1786. While it looks the same, it is recognized as different for those of use with keen eyes, and it especially computer readers. That includes software that reads to the blind and also software that processes the data in our pages for external use. If you're using the normal editor, the en-dash is displayed below the edit window. Other editors may not have that option, so you may copy it from the example above. Thanks.
