Ay Çöreği ({lang-tr}, "Moon Pastry") is a Turkish confection in the shape of a crescent moon. A pastry shell, often egg-glazed and sprinkled with sesame seeds or hazelnuts, contains a chocolate-fruit-nut amalgamation, archetypically including candied orange peel. Common to patisseries, bakeries, and coffee shops throughout Turkey, and typically priced in neighborhood of 1 Turkish lira.
