The List of Bacteria Genera could be significantly improved. As of now, it is poorly cited, gives no overview to help the reader get a quick background, and is in alphabetical order (which may be helpful in most circumstance, but in this case gives no indication of the relationships between different taxonomic classes). Moreover, the 'Contents' box lists bacterial phylum, class, order, and family, but no rank below family (i.e., genus). It links to other wiki pages, which is helpful. This article was last cited in 2012, and the International Code of Nomenclature of Prokaryotes published the "Prokaryotic Code (2008 Revision)" [1] in January 2019.
The most recent revision of the Prokaryotic Code provides an overview of the rules for bacterial taxonomy.
