Hi[edit]

I'm Lisa B.

Why I'm here[edit]

I’ve been using Wikipedia for almost ten years (when there wasn't really very much on it and even what there was you weren't quite sure whether to believe). But all that time I've never contributed. I'm now part-retired so I'm hoping I might be able to give a bit back.

Where I'm from[edit]

American by birth, I've lived and worked all around the USA. Also worked in London for several years. As far as languages are concerned, my Brit friends tell me I can't even speak English! My career for the last two decades has been as a specialist in OD (organizational development) and Change Management.

What I'm trying to do[edit]

My first attempt at contributing to Wikipedia (and possibly my last now I realize just how much time it takes!) is a biography about someone I've kept hearing about thru my work but never managed to meet – though I attended a speech he gave in Boston once. No special reason for choosing him, but I had a few of his earlier books and I'd just finished his latest one, looked him up on Wikipedia, and found he didn't have an entry. So I Googled him and got lost in (and increasingly intrigued by) all the references. That seemed as good a reason as any for me to try to save others from having to do the same. So I decided to structure and summarize the most interesting insights rather than consider writing about someone or something else. This ended up being both a Good and Bad choice. On the plus side, my career had prepared me for the mind-numbing process of cross-correlating references of varying quality. On the negative side, it was still mind-numbing!

How I'm feeling[edit]

I'm currently a bit swamped by all the instructions for Wiki-newbies like me. And I'd be really grateful for any help (given that the Request Review facility seems to have been discontinued). Anyway, here goes…
