The Under-21s won their first ten games of the 2023-24 season (including their first seven League games), under the management of Wayne Burnett, before losing an EFL Trophy game 1-3 away to League One Peterborough United on 31 October 2023.[1] They continued with a 100% record in Premier League 2, winning their first eleven league games before drawing 1-1 at home to West Ham United on 17 February 2024.[2] They lost their next game 1-2 at home to Everton Under-21s on 2 March 2024, bringing to an end their unbeaten league run.[3]
