The '"Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club'" is a sports club who's Kenya operations are based at the Nairobi Club[1]. It is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the region having been founded in the year 1927 . It is affiliated to Cricket Kenya through the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association, in who's competitions it fields teams. The club is also the principal backer of the Kongonis franchise in the East Africa Cup and East Africa Premier League competitions.[2][3]

Kenya Kongonis was founded in 1927 by H.B Emley as Kenya Gentleman, who was at the time Chief Mechanical Engineer with the Kenya Uganda Railway the purpose of the club was “to arrange tours in East Africa and England and to advance and improve cricket in the colony”. The name Kenya Kongonis was adopted in 1928.[4] since then the club served as a major conduit for organising cricket tours with the 1950s and 1960s seeing visits from the likes of Wally Hammond and Hanif Mohammed.
