About Me[edit]

I was born in Southampton, and I am currently studying archaeology at the University of Bristol. When not there, I live in the Hampshire village of Swanmore.

Interests[edit]

As well as archaeology, I am keen on anything mechanical or transport related, including aircraft, boats/ships, tractors, locomotives (both steam and diesel) and cars (especially Land Rovers).

In terms of archaeology, I am especially interested in the Industrial Revolution and its associated technology, which is where my interest in railways came from. I tend to 'read up' most on the pre-grouping era railways in the UK, especially the late 19th/early 20th centuries. Although I wouldn't class myself as knowledgable in either, I am interested in civil engineering and architecture as well.

I am generally interested in the study of the Victorian era and World War One as well.

Current Projects[edit]

Main Work[edit]

  • Meon Valley Railway- the only article I started from scratch, I am continuing to dig up information on this subject. Currently I am trying to track down suitable period photographs. At some point I will sit down and do all the in-text references if no one gets there first.
