I'll be doing the "Anchor & Majors" section Here is the current wiki section

Anchors & Majors[edit]

Some of the well-known businesses in Dixie Outlet Mall are Payless ShoeSource, The Source By Circuit City, Laura Secord, and Cinnabon. The mall is also bringing in brand name outlets such as "Guess" and "Nine West". The mall is also home to the Dixie Flea Market, located on the lower level of the building.

I will be doing the Store Directory. Zack.Yassin (talk) 19:41, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

I'll be doing the Guest Services section. Joe.Measures (talk) 18:27, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

I'll take care of Maps and Photos Hallhey93 (talk) 18:29, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

The mall is actually divided into different sections by color (green, teal, purple, yellow, red, etc.) Someone can mention this. Hallhey93 (talk) 18:40, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

I renamed the "Anchor's & Majors" section to "Stores" , and have rewritten this section. If anyone has any suggestions about the new section title feel free to amend it or recommend changes. Mrbanks88 (talk) 18:48, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

I'm thinking about driving to Dixie to take a couple of photos to post on the wiki page. I went over the copyright rules and found that I can't upload anything that I didn't create. Hallhey93 (talk) 18:54, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Alright Hallhey93, that's a great idea. Thanks for doing that. I just added the Guest Services Section. Joe.Measures (talk) 22:59, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

Solid idea above about the photos. Just checking in, I did a second revision to the "Stores" section. Mrbanks88 (talk) 00:15, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

I noticed that the introduction could easily be organized into a few segments. I'm going to add a 'History' and 'Green Initiative' segment. Joe.Measures (talk) 01:24, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

At this point I've decided to not upload any photos. I'd rather focus on "substantive editing" since we won't be graded on images. It's actually a difficult process and it's possible that I can run into some copyright issues. Hallhey93 (talk) 02:34, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

I have removed the "Hours of Operation" bit in the intro. It's irrelevant and unnecessary info. Hallhey93 (talk) 02:37, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Another quick update, I have done a third revision on the stores section Mrbanks88 (talk) 02:44, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Just finished the Store Directory, including phone numbers for each store Zack.Yassin (talk) 02:52, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Just emailed the word document with the before and after codes Mrbanks88 (talk) 02:56, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

I made the cover page for the e-mail. I'll send the whole thing out tomorrow between classes. I still need a screen shot from the original article. Could someone get me that? Then I'll take a screen shot once I'm positive that there's nothing else to add. Joe.Measures (talk) 03:39, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

I just added a little blip about the Fantastic Flea Market in the wiki. Please review. Hallhey93 (talk) 03:55, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Flea Market[edit]

Established in 1976, the "Fantastic Flea Market" is the oldest flea market in Toronto. [1] Located in the basement of the Dixie Outlet Mall, the flea market offers a diverse collection of bargains and giveaways such as clothing, jewellery, video games, antiques and memorabilia, while also providing personal services like electronic and watch repairs. [2] Open year round with over 125 vendors, the Fantastic Flea Market’s motto is: “A community that shares is a community that cares!” [3]

The more that I'm reviewing the wiki, I feel more inclined to remove the store directory completely. It's actually quite lengthy and not significant information. I sure a lot of effort was put into it, but I want a group consensus about whether or not we should keep the section". Hallhey93 (talk) 04:01, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Made minor revisions to "Green Initiatives" and "Guest Services"Hallhey93 (talk) 04:23, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Green Initiative[edit]

Dixie Outlet Mall is "100% Bullfrog Powered", meaning that it runs directly on clean and renewable electricity generated by wind and hydroelectric sources. Dixie Outlet Mall also provides many recycling stations throughout the mall. In fact, this outlet mall was awarded the Gold Award by the Recycling Council of Ontario in 2010 for its efforts. [4]

Removed the Store Directory and replaced with new list of major anchors and stores as well as fast food restaurants. Alphabetized and hyperlinkedHallhey93 (talk) 05:50, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Fast Food Restaurants & Speciality Foods

Minor change to Stores sectionHallhey93 (talk) 06:05, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Stores[edit]

As one of Canada’s major shopping centres, Dixie Outlet Mall’s current roster of stores includes Payless ShoeSource, The Source By Circuit City, Melanie Lyne, and Fruits & Passion amongst others. Additionally, Dixie Outlet Mall is home to “brand outlet stores” such as GUESS?, Tommy Hilfiger and Mexx. [5] The mall also comprises of, but is not limited to, major businesses such as Sears, No Frills and Winners. Speciality foods stores like Laura Secord, Cinnabon, and Baskin Robbins can be found here as well.

Completed final edits, created/fixed necessary hyperlinksHallhey93 (talk) 06:27, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

I like the new "Anchors and Majors" section, great idea. The separation of the Flea market from the stores is a welcomed edit as well Mrbanks88 (talk) 16:14, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, great job with that. I'm having some difficulties putting a screenshot of the original article into the e-mail. Joe.Measures (talk) 16:23, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
