Jamie Hunter (born in England August 14, 1969) joined Microsoft in 1998. Jamie Hunter has been involved in a number of projects in Microsoft, including Plug and Play, Device Installation, Next-Generation Secure Computing Base, and most recently BitLocker Drive Encryption.

Jamie was the senior developer of the BitLocker project in 2003 (previously known as Cornerstone and Secure Startup) as a solution to the visibility of SysKey. The intent at the time was to use Hypervisor technology to maintain the integrity of the boot process to ensure that the recipient of SysKey (and other keys) is the intended operating system. This evolved into the technology now known as BitLocker Drive Encryption protecting far more than a single system key.
