Jasmina Ninkov (Јасмина Нинков) (Ћуприја, 1. april 1962), political science graduate and librarian advisor, is one of leading Serbian experts in the field of librarianship. Since 2009. she is the director of Belgrade City Library, the biggest public library in Serbia.

Biography[edit]

Jasmina Ninkov was born in 1962. in the town of Ćuprija(Serbia). She graduated journalism at Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade in 1986, whereby she aquired the title of graduate political scientist. In 1993 she passed the proffessional exmination in area of [librarianship], and she acquired the title of graduated librarian advisor in 2006. She specialized as lecturer in the areas of intelectual freedom (Slovenia,2001), information literacy (Ankara,2008) and digitalization (Prague,2008). From 1991 until 2002 she worked in Belgrade City Library on editorial affairs, organization of cultural programs, professional affairs as well as being the head of Children library. She was the director of “Milutin Bojić” library in Belgrade from October 2002 until June 2009.[1] From 2009. She is the director of Belgrade City Library, the biggest public library in Serbia.[2] She was a member of board of directors of Librarian society of Serbia (2011 – 2015), member of Public relations society of Serbia, Society of Saint Sava and other organizations.[3] She is a member of the Committee for standards in the area of information and documentation science of Institute for standardization of Serbia.

She participated in numerous expert conventions, seminars and international conferences, workshops and strategic conferences (Council of Europe,European Commission). She is also engaged and actively participating in international projects “EAwarenes(Europeana Awareness), Di-XL (Dissemination and eXploration through Libraries), LoCloud, АxcessIT, AxcessIT plus, Pulman, Calimera.[4][5]

She is an active publisher of articles in domestic and foreign Periodical literature about books, reading, librarianship, European integrations, electronic management as well as professional papers (internet, marketing, public relations, e-culture…).[6]
