Eightcubed

Eightcubed is a electronic music artist from Toronto, Canada. He is best known for introducing 8bit music into the Canadian music mainstream. His first album "Simple Dance" was released in 2006 by his own record label Abstract Core Records; critics described his sound as "Aphex Twin meets a kindergarten on acid." [1] In 2008 "Heart Invaders" was released with a music video directed by computer animator Dan Swan and nationally aired on MuchMusic throughout 2008 to 2011. In 2009 he released "City Life" an EP that received popular acclaim for its low-fi retro futuristic sound, notably for the single "Promise Me" which gained comparisons to low-fi electronic groups Crystal Castles [2] and Kap Bambino [3]. In a Detroit radio interview Eightcubed explains the importance of storytelling and artificial intelligence in his music. [4] He has been featured in NOW Magazine [5], RCRD LBL and independent blogs and has received major radio play in Canada. [6] [7] [8] [9] His latest EP entitled "High Arrt" is set for release April 2012.
