Two unexploded bombs were recovered from the trains in the morning of march 11th by the EOD policemen. Accordingly to the nature of the damage inflicted on the trains, tehy supposed that the explosives were Semtex or C4. They applied the desactivation protocol for those military explosives, and the protocol failed, so they decided to detonate the artifacts. Seems that no one thought about taking samples form those explosions, a very strange circumstance, indeed.
A third bag containing Goma-2 ECO and a crudely constructed detonator was found in the Vallecas Police Station in the first hours of march 12th. The bomb was assembled in a strangely crude fashion, with untaped wires that, the police argues, were the cause of the failure of the bomb.
