There’s two templates for the project right now, and these are the following:
Project Banner[edit]
User:I.M.S./WikiProject The Kinks/WP Kinks
This you can add to the Talk Page or any pages related to The Kinks. Anyone can do it – the more the better!
Please add {{WP Kinks}} along with the importance and quality of the article. You can do this by putting |class=X
(where X
is Stub
, Start
, B
, A
, GA
or FA
) and |importance=X
(where X
is Low
, Mid
, High
or Top
). Note that the parameters and values are case sensitive.
End-of-page Template[edit]
Add this to the end of the actual article on a page relating to The Kinks. This does not belong on pages only vaguely related, the scope is not as broad as the Project Banner. Basically, add this to songs, members, and albums. Type {{The Kinks}}.
Assessment Department[edit]
??? | Total |
0 | 0 |
This is the section of the WikiProject that deals with Assessing articles under the scope of our Articles. Its main page and related pages are part of the Department.
If the need arises then a Head of the Department of Assessments and Assessing Articles should be created to act as a permanent administrator and 'expert' to the Department.
Assessing articles is an important aspect of a WikiProject because it allows the members to see which articles need improvements so the criteria should be followed closely so don't be afraid of asking for help!
Tips[edit]
Editors, feel free to add some tips that will be helpful to newbies on this project.
Citation[edit]
Remember to always cite or add a source to all facts and assertions you put down on Wikipedia. The simplest way to do it is to add the <ref> tags to (reliable) sources you’ve found.
E.g., "The Single quickly rose to #3 on the charts".
This is a “fact” that is questionable if without a reference. It could be deleted by another editor due to it not being verifiable. To solidify your statement’s verifiability, add the ref tag before and after a the name of reliable source, such as a book, like this:
"The Single quickly rose to #3 on the charts" <ref>”The Kinks: All Day and All of the night: A definitive day-by-day guide to the Kinks”, by Doug Hinman</ref>.
Make sure to close your second <ref> tag with a /, like this:
</ref>
And always add a <references/> or {{reflist}} tag (just one) at the bottom of the page before you’re done.
Be bold – but don’t be afraid to ask another editor if you need help.
