I live in Chichester in West Sussex, England, UK, was born in Norwich, Norfolk and grew up in Lewes, East Sussex. I have also lived in a number of other towns across the southern half of England, including Marlborough, Northampton and Croydon.

I was educated in Brighton and studied at Loughborough University, Leicestershire some years ago and now work as a transport planner, including urban transport simulation models, development and implementation of Home Zones, bicycle route networks and sections of the UK National Cycle Network.

So far, I have not chosen to edit topics on Wikipedia reflecting my professional life, but have concentrated on my interests, starting with music. I may start adding and editing transport planning related articles soon though, as there are a lot of missing or under-developed topics and the articles that are there, so far seem to cover the North American experience and working practice to the exclusion of the European. I've only been editing significantly since February 2006 and have significantly expanded three articles to date on bands that only had stubs to their name, and have contributed paragraphs, tables and other smaller insertions to a number of other articles on musical styles and bands that I enjoy.

Music

I listen to many genres of music, both at home and at live gigs, although i admit to not being musically gifted myself. I have accumulated a collection of thousands of CDs and vinyl LPs. My favourite genres being:

Punk, Reggae - especially dub reggae, Krautrock, Post-punk, Indie, Rock, Psychedelic rock, Blues, 1960's & '70's Soul music, original (1960's) R&B, and some Afrobeat, Jazz, Folk, Heavy Metal and Hip-hop.

• Cycling and Mountain biking
• Mountain and hill walking and rambling
• Pre-history and Megalithic culture
• Films, mainly cult movies from '60's to mid '90's. My favourite movies include A Clockwork Orange, The Wicker Man, Apocalypse Now, Goodfellas, Heathers, Blue Velvet, Withnail & I, Repo Man, Braindead, This Is Spinal Tap, Hairspray, Jamon Jamon and La Haine.
• I am also a fan of Doctor Who, although i'm not one to take it too seriously.
• Quality ales and beers, especially those of Harveys of Lewes (hence my user name), the Dark Star Brewery of Ansty, Haywards Heath, West Sussex and Hop Back Brewery from Wiltshire.
• I also enjoy wine, single malt scotch whisky, and quality French-distilled absinthe, but am really not an alcoholic!
