The Unreasonably Difficult Photo Contest

Wikipedia has various photo contests. Wiki Loves Monuments and Wiki Loves Earth being the most prominent. These are designed to give lots of targets to make entering easy. This is for those who prefer a photo contest on hard mode. Below is a list of unreasonably difficult subjects and the aim is to be the first to take a photo of them

Rules[edit]

  • Photos must be released under a free license and uploaded to commons
  • Photos or videos only. No CGI, drawings or sonar.
  • The aim is to be the first to take a photo of the subject in question. No prizes for being the second
  • No laws should be broken
  • Disruption to wildlife should be as little as reasonably practicable

Warning[edit]

A number of the subjects are extremely hazardous to be anywhere near (for example attempting to summit Kangchenjunga has around a 20% fatality rate). Trying to take such photos is something you do entirely at your own risk and should you be killed your next of kin may not enter in your place.

  • A Certificate you can print out and be the envy of anyone who understands it
  • If you run into Geni at a meetup where tea is sold they will buy you a cup/pot of tea (alternatively a Beer)
