First I was a mechanical engineer, now I am an interventional cardiologist.

I am interested in medical topics and biographies of scientists and physicians. Lately, I've been asking my students to make a significant contribution to a medicine topic of their choice during the 4 weeks they spend on service with me. Time-saving links: the "pipe trick"

Are you tired of having to type long links to targets, and then having to write out most of the link again to hide the namespace? Simply put a pipe ( "|" ) at the end of the link, like so: [[Wikipedia:Tip of the day|]], which turns Wikipedia:Tip of the day into Tip of the day. This trick also works with parentheses – [[colon (punctuation)|]] becomes colon, and comma – [[San Francisco, California|]] becomes San Francisco.

Case and spelled-out abbreviations


Just because capitals are used in an abbreviation doesn't mean initial capitals should be used in the expanded version.

Incorrect (not a proper noun): We used Digital Scanning (DS) technology

Correct: We used digital scanning (DS) technology

Correct (a proper noun): The film was produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)
