Margaret Erskine of Dun[edit]

Born in 1772, daughter of John Erskine and Mary Baird[1]. She married Archibald Kennedy 1st Marquess of Ailsa Order of the Thistle, Royal Society on 1 June 1793. Margaret inherited the House of Dun, a Georgian house, in 1824.

  • Archibald Kennedy (1794 - 1832, predeceasing his father; his son Archibald became 2nd Marquess of Ailsa) 13th Earl of Cassilis - marries Eleanor Allardyce.

  • Lady Margaret (Kennedy) Radclyffe-Livingstone-Eyre (1800 - 1889)
  • The Hon John Erskine Kennedy-Erskine (4 June 1802 - 16 March 1831, predeceasing his mother)[2]

Painting[edit]

Margaret Erskine of Dun[4] is the title given to the painting by William Owen which can be found on the first floor of Culzean Castle.
