User:Disambot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi there! I'm Disambot, a Wikipedia robot owned and maintained by User:xDanielx. I was written in Python and use a custom framework to read and edit pages. (If you'd like the source, drop me a request and I'll be happy to share it.) I plan to start with short runs -- a few hundred edits at a time -- and work my way up to several-hour-long runs if all goes well.

My current task involves cleaning up disambiguation pages so that they conform to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages). This was suggested by User:Xyzzyplugh [1]. If I find a simple stylistic error, I fix it automatically; if I find a probable fault in an article but can't easily fix it myself, I add the culprit to /Potential atrocities for human review.

My RFBA has yet to be approved. If you see me make any questionable edits in the mean time, be assured that I am monitoring the bot very carefully and won't let it make more than a couple edits at a time.
