new stubsensor[edit]

Hello,

I thought you would like to know there is a new stubsensor out. You can find it at User:Triddle/stubsensor/20070206. Thanks for the previous help, I hope you enjoy working on it again. :-) Triddle 08:27, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Portal:Vancouver[edit]

Portal:Vancouver/Quote/Suggest is simply a suggestion area where people suggest and vote on new quotes. The reason the page looks inactive is because you are the first person to suggest a Vancouver-related quote since January. However, I think we should see if people vote on the quotes before deciding the page is useless to the process. Who knows, maybe they've just been waiting for someone to post. =) Mkdwtalk 02:10, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

My RfA[edit]

Thank you for your support in my my recent RfA in which I withdrew because the oppose votes were almost equalling the supporters. I then decided to leave my account (Tellyaddict) and start fresh under a new username, however I quickly decided to reconsider after another user persuaded me not to leave the account - I am now glad I did reconsider because leaving that account and creating a new one was too hasty so I've decided to improve rather than starting again! I hope we can remain civil and that there were no negative feelings caused. Again, thanks for your support even though I withdrew it, your vote is much appreciated! Regards - Tellyaddict (Talk) 19:44, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment on my talk page about my RfA, the decision to leave this account and create a new one was very silly - I can see that now! Also, you put on your comment of support there not the perfect candidate, I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me why you think I was not so I could chage it in the future, again thanks and Best Regards - Tellyaddict (Talk) 09:46, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Ad Request[edit]

I'm part of Wikiproject Vancouver. Its not new, but I think that actvity had fallen lately. Could you please try creating an ad for it. Thanks! Canadianshoper 18:24, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Ad Formats[edit]

I was wondering if you could create ads in the sidebar format. I like how bars like them look on my userpage. Thanks!Canadianshoper 18:17, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for your suggestion. This has been brought up before; I'm reluctant to do ads of a different shape because it would require me to re-do the existing ads from scratch in order to have content, and to do two new ads each time there is a request (to satisfy users of both formats), which would take a long time. Having separate formats also has the disadvantage of added complexity. Thanks – Qxz 18:42, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

I understand. Canadianshoper 18:44, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Copyvio[edit]

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Ottawa irish rugby. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://ottawairishrugby.com/content/section/12/60/ in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Ottawa irish rugby with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Ottawa irish rugby with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Ottawa irish rugby saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your original contributions are welcome. --Finngall talk 01:52, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Finngal.I noticed that you have warned me for a copy vio on Ottawa Irish :Rugby. Note that my only edit to this page was moving it to its current title, since it wasn't capitalized. If you still think that I violated copyright, please let me know. I do not mean to offend you with this message. Thanks! --Canadianshoper 01:57, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about that, and I see you've given the notice to the original poster. No harm done, except two pages will need to be cleaned up instead of one... Sorry to bother you. Take care. --Finngall talk 02:05, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this IP address or network has been used to disrupt Wikipedia. It has been blocked from editing to prevent further abuse.
If you are not the intended target of this block, please read the information below in order to receive assistance.
Wikipedia tries to be open, but we sometimes must block IP addresses to prevent editing by abusers, vandals, or block evaders. These blocks can affect users who have done nothing wrong. If you are a legitimate user, follow the instructions below to edit despite the block. Users who are the intended target of a range block may still appeal the block.

IP users (without an account): If you do not have an account and wish to bypass this block, an account can be created to allow you to edit. In general, these blocks only prevent users who are not logged in from editing; once you are logged in, the block will no longer affect you in any way. To request an account, simply click here and follow the directions provided on the page. It is important that you use an e-mail address issued to you by your ISP, school, or organisation, so we may verify that you are a legitimate user. When filling out the account request form, please refer to this block in the "comments" input field. If you've been instructed to request an account via email, please refer to this block in your message.

Registered users (with an account): Please make sure you are logged in to your account. If you are unable to edit while logged in, you may request IP block exemption to bypass blocks unconnected with you that affect your editing. Post an unblock request to your user talk page.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Decline reason: This IP is one of the most published open proxies on the Internet. It is forbidden to edit from them.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 01:18, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Note that my IP Network Range has been blocked, so until its lifted or I'm unblocked, I will have near zero edits. I wonder if editing from another computer will work.

I am required to discuss this request with the blocking checkuser, as is policy. I'll get back to you as soon as we're done. Sean William 01:37, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
I have been unblocked. Thanks! --Canadianshoper 02:11, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
64.59.144.85 is still blocked. It's more likely that your ISP has reallocated you a different IP address and before you know it you'll end up on 64.59.144.85 again. Are you on a dial up connection or broadband connection with Shaw? --  Netsnipe  ►  07:23, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
