So, yeah. I have a few other accounts. I either forgot the password, or even forgot the screen name. Expect my interest in wikipedia to wax and wane.

My philosophy on what should be included in Wikipedia

Hmm. How do I describe my philosophy?

I guess you can call it streamlinist. I believe Wikipedia needs to be as streamlined as possible. If a shorter article can be redirected or merged into a larger one, do so. If it's already been pointed out, don't point out again by creating another article. This is for simplicity--it's better to have information on one topic in one place at time.

On the other hand, I know there is a few practical arguments. One of them would be that this could lengthen an article enough that a slower computer wouldn't be able to load. Another would be the fact there are users who are young, disabled, not fluent in English, or all three (or two out of three), who may not be able to read through such a long article. Another would be that the topic is so broad that it's just impractical to have one article talk about all the ins and outs of said topic in just one article. In that case, yeah, I prefer the article to split up, with maybe a brief explanation in the original article.

I'm in the Association of Deletionist Wikipedians, and also in the Association of Mergist Wikipedians. I'm probably more mergist than deletionist.
