Stratio, Inc. is a technology company that specializes in the design and production of handheld Infrared sensing tools. Founded in 2013 by three Stanford engineers, the company makes infrared sensors for a wide variety of commercial applications. Stratio has three offices worldwide.[1]

History[edit]

The company develops and manufactures consumer and commercial infrared technologies to reveal material properties and to increase process efficiency. Stratio works in the field of infrared spectrometers, short-wavelength infrared cameras, and hyperspectral imaging, and enables smartphone applications by utilizing its proprietary infrared image sensor technologies.[2]

In 2017, the company launched LinkSquare, a pen-sized spectrometer, and a software platform, which connects wirelessly with a smartphone application and can provide information about the subject's molecular structure.[3] It can also be used to check the food quality and to verify the accuracy of the product information.[4]

LinkSquare can also be used to detect counterfeit medicine, cosmetics, currency, jewelry, and fruits. LinkSquare emits visible and infrared light of 400 to 1000 nanometer wavelengths on the subject.[5] The device records the molecule's vibration and sends it to a mobile app to form an optical footprint of the scanned object. LinkSquare is in use in over 25 countries,[6] and was selected as “Project We Love” by Kickstarter, an enormous global community built around creativity and creative projects.[7] LinkSquare was also a Tech Crunch Hardware Battlefield finalist at CES 2017.[8]
