Whilst it's true that Wikipedia has a considerable number of [[WP:PG|policies and guidelines]], they can basically be boiled down to the so-called [[WP:5P|Five Pillars]]: * Wikipedia is an encyclopedia - [[WP:NOT|not something else]]. * Wikipedia is [[WP:NPOV|neutral]]. * Wikipedia is free - so its content [[WP:COPYVIO|must be free too]]. * Wikipedia is a community - so [[WP:CIVIL|be nice!]] * Wikipedia [[WP:IAR|doesn't have firm rules]]. If you read the five pillars, you'll have enough information to get by - everything else stems from these.
