Hello! I joined Wikipedia because I’m a huge music fan and wanted to show off my more nerdy, encyclopedic side and also be able to help in preserving the legacy of the artists that I love, particularly bands and artists that aren’t as well-documented (if you want to see that, I recommend checking out my work on Zeke Zettner’s article). But I mostly make aesthetic changes to timelines…
I first properly got into listening to music when I was in my first year of secondary school after I heard The Rolling Stones for the first time. Before that, I’d indulged in the odd song by Queen or the Beatles, but it wasn’t really until then that I began listening to music on a more regular basis. From there, I began to gradually discover artists like Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie and Elton John. I got inspired to actually play music myself by a mixture of Nirvana and The Stooges, particularly the album Raw Power; the guitarist on that album, James Williamson, inspired me to choose the electric guitar as my first instrument when I was fourteen, and I became every school’s obligatory Nirvana superfan. Since then, I’ve been a guitarist, singer and bassist in several bands, each a little bit better than the last.
I like creative writing, history, politics, literature, clothes (particularly tracksuits made by Adidas), traveling, amateur filmmaking, culture and public speaking.
