Twofold is an English-American Electronic Music duo, formed in 2011 by producers Adam Crewes-Meyer, from West Sussex, and Adam McKinney from California[1]. Their music has been described as a "complex blend of haunting melodies and aggressive, industrial breakdowns."

Formation & Early Years (2011-2013)[edit]
The pair had previously enjoyed relative success in the dubstep scene with their solo acts Static Function and Vannin. The pair had collaborated under these aliases and began discussing further projects, and from there they decided to form a full collaborative alias, which gave birth to Twofold. The name Twofold has significance for a number of reasons. There are two members, two 'Adam's, and they are from two separate countries. The pair also carry two separate musical heritages. In an interview with Loud Sound Dubstep in 2012, Crewes-Meyer stated that "Even on top of all the other reasons, I always felt that the clash of our respective inspirations lead to a twofold increase in our ideas and our creativity. So it really just made sense for us to work under the Twofold alias. It is a relevant name that reflects us and our music in a variety of ways."
The pair had very different musical backgrounds, with Crewes-Meyer previously being the drummer and producer for a Brighton based Post-hardcore band[2]. McKinney meanwhile, had roots leading back in to Trance and Progressive House stretching far back in to the early days of electronic music. The fusion of these styles was considered to be a fresh injection into the electronic music scene, and the duo rapidly gained a cult following.
The duo's style immediately caught the attention of Datsik, who signed the duo up for an EP on his label Firepower Records. [3] The duo's Debut EP, entitled 'The Prelude' was released in 2013, and contained an array of Genres including Dubstep, Electro, and Drum & Bass. This medley of sounds gave the EP an agglomeration of tempos and allowed the EP to reach multiple musical groups at once, in turn contributing to the success of the EP.
