Wrestling[edit]

Wrestling is not that notable. It's a very narrow niche. The wrestling kids need to stop insisting that every article possible have some sort of wrestling reference. Paul Harald Kaspar (talk) 22:18, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Are you an admin? If not, I believe you need to stop trying to intimidate another editor simply because they object to you pasting your love of a silly pseudo-sport all over Wikipedia. Maybe an admin should be informed about your conduct. Paul Harald Kaspar (talk) 23:27, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

I've reported you for attempting to bully other editors with your zealotry. have a nice day. Paul Harald Kaspar (talk) 23:43, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

3RR and Edit Warring[edit]

The relevant policy pages are WP:3RR and WP:Edit warring. Take a look. If you have a content dispute, the best thing to do is argue about it on the policy page until you reach a consensus. Edit warring is likely to get the page protected and the edit-warring parties blocked. As REDVERS has said on AN/I (its there now, you can scroll up) - jaw-jaw, not war-war. If you can't reach a consensus, follow the steps outlined in dispute resolution. If someone is edit-warring against consensus, you can request temporary article protection at this page. Hope this helps. Avruchtalk 00:04, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

New York[edit]

Hello PYLrulz. Trust me, it's not 100% certain, Spitzer will resign tommorrow (see the Arkansas incident in 1996, concerning Jim Guy Tucker). It's better to be patient & wait until the actual transfer occurs - as far as gubernatorial succession is concerned (as opposed to a 'Governor-elect'). GoodDay (talk) 21:22, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

It's prefferd to list a 'outgoing' & 'incoming' Governor, only when the incoming Gov was elected to become Governor. Example: During the time between the 2006 New York gubernatorial election & 2007 inauguration (of Spitzer) - the infobox would've been:
George Pataki
Eliot Spitzer (elect).
Basically, Paterson isn't a Governor-elect. GoodDay (talk) 21:38, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Talk page question[edit]

Thanks for your message [1] on my talk page. As noted in Wikipedia:User page#Removal of comments, warnings, registered editors may remove messages at will from their own talk pages (however archiving is preferred). Wikipedia's official policy on Vandalism was updated 800 days ago [2] to reflect this fact. --Kralizec! (talk) 21:51, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

No worries, and thanks for helping keep vandalism under wraps! --Kralizec! (talk) 22:47, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

1995 Japanese Grand Prix[edit]

Thanks for reviewing and passing the article! ;) D.M.N. (talk) 22:27, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

GA reversal[edit]

I have reverted your approval of the 1995 Japanese Grand Prix as a Good Article. Although I know you were trying to help, I think some things have been done improperly and need fixing.

First, as a member of one of the WikiProjects related to motorsport, it might be viewed by some as not kosher to be reviewing an article about a subject you already know, especially considering you joined the F1 WikiProject at the same time.

Second, there were some mistakes in your approval of the article. The criteria for Good Article, seen [Wikipedia:Good article criteria|here]], is usually listed and checked on the article's talk page so that the author can see what passes and what fails, and improve accordingly. See Talk:Richard Lloyd Racing for an example of a previous article which was reviewed for GA and passed. Simply looking at an article and changing some templates to mark it as GA is not the way this system works.

The template for actually denoting that the article passed GA was also missed, while you also failed to add the article to list of good articles.

Please review the criteria for passing GA, and give the article a proper review before you approve it once again. Thanks. The359 (talk) 23:01, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject College football April 2008 Newsletter (full contents)[edit]

The College football WikiProject Newsletter
Issue V - April 2008
Project news
  • This month is spring practice season for most college football teams. Be sure to update your team's season article and grab a few pictures if you're lucky enough to be on hand for a spring game. Remember, even the worst picture of all is better than the picture that wasn't taken.
  • The number of College Football Good Articles being added to the project continues to grow. Nine new GAs were added in March, bringing the total of GAs produced this year to 29. At the current rate, the project will produce 116 GAs this year, nearly three times the number of GAs that were produced in the past two years. Keep up the great work!
  • With all the new GAs and FAs produced by the project, reviewers and commenters are continuously needed. Keep an eye on the project talk page, WP:FAC and WP:GAC for new college football articles to review and comment upon. Even one suggestion or support message goes a long way toward helping create a new Featured or Good Article.
  • Notre Dame Fighting Irish football under Tyrone Willingham and Skip Holtz need a Good Article review.
  • A discussion is ongoing about the possibility of creating a master team list for Division 1-AA, Division 2, Division 3, and NAIA football teams.
  • A discussion about article notability is ongoing on the project talk page. Editors are encouraged to participate.

Welcome to the latest issue of the College football WikiProject newsletter! I hope that you're enjoying regular updates about the goings on of college football on Wikipedia, but if not, feel free to add your name to the "no delivery" section on the newsletter signup page.

I encourage everyone to make regular visits to the College Football Portal and perhaps make it your Wikipedia entry page instead of using the Main Page as your gateway. Nominations for selected articles and pictures are always welcome, and can serve as a great way to show off that new article you just shepherded to Good Article status or the great picture you took the last time you were at a game.

Comments and suggestions on improving the newsletter are always welcome, and help me improve it on a monthly basis. Keep contributing and editing, and don't hesitate to contact me or post on the College Football Wikiproject talk page if you need help or just want someone to look over your article.
