Deletions[edit]
Did you happen to see my disclaimer in the talk section of the pages I have been working on? The information is severe copy infringement by a banned user. I was given the OK to delete it by another admin. Thanks. FrittataOhio (talk) 21:44, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I read it and you've provided no links to the copyvios themselves, how can we confirm that this isn't just removal of content? I've done a search and found nothing that resembles copyright. You're doing this en masse which means you need to give external links to the violations please, thanks. Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 21:45, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
The problems in question are literally word for word from gongwer-oh.com. To view the site, you need a subscription, which I in fact have. As I told the admin I was speaking to, the individual who did this would copy and paste gongwer articles and then reference them with other articles to give the illusion of no copy infringement. Also, literally 100% of the Deletions I am making are from a user banned from copyright infringement. I would love to give links to the pages but they are behind firewall and therefore I cannot. Thus, this is why I was given the ok to delete. I am bypassing the speedy deletion template due to the fact this is a serious copy and paste problem with literally every current Ohio politician. FrittataOhio (talk) 21:54, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- Could you link me to the discussion with the admin to whom you've spoken? And I don't know how to go about this, but you can't prove your claims so you might have to take it to a different medium on Wikipedia. Also, which user is the one who has introduced all of these violations please? Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 21:56, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- Are you sure they aren't copying from us? — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 21:57, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

- For a user (FrittataOhio ) who has only been a Wikipedia editor for 3 hours that is quite a remarkable achievement. These deletions look like outright vandalism to me. Convince me I'm wrong otherwise I shall revert them all as vandalism and report appropriately. Velella Velella Talk 21:58, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

It looks like I was accidentally banned. Let me know the proper way to delete the problems. I looked into copy and pasting from their website, but it us against their policy since they are behind a paywall. Any suggestions? Putting up the deletion thing seems useless since most people won't want pay. FrittataOhio (talk) 16:34, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
I have removed all information that was copied in which I have seen. Since some pages are blocked, there are still some things left in Whig I guess I have to wait four days to do. However I have two questions. The first is I'd you are able or willing to protect each current page with the lock thing like some of them are. Secondly, I wanted to see if you could bring back the eight politicians that were entirely deleted. I bet that the entirety of those articles are not copy violations, but instead just parts. It'd be nice to have those articles represented if we could. FrittataOhio (talk) 03:13, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- I am not an administrator so I don't have access to deleted files, but if you link me to the 8 politicians I could create the articles afresh for you if you want? Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 03:16, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
The pages in question are Larry Obhof, Nan Baker, Jim Butler (Ohio politician), Sean O'Brien (Ohio), Bob Peterson (Ohio politician), Andy Thompson (Ohio politician), Brian Hill (politician), and Casey Kozlowski. I don't know the best way to do it but I trust you will! FrittataOhio (talk) 12:55, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- Advice obtained from an admin suggests:"...I think the best course of action in that case would be for the user to create userspace drafts of the various articles, and then ask an admin to move them to the appropriate place in the article namespace (as well as having been deleted, the pages have been protected, so that non-admins cannot create articles under those titles). I am being wary because those pages have been deleted more than once, and there appears to be quite a lot of history. If the new userspace articles are good (and particularly, free of copyright violations), then it should be very easy to get them moved over. I'm sure the user will understand that given recent on-wiki occurrences, we are going to be more cautious than usual." (I.e. ignore my earlier advice). Hope that that helps. Velella Velella Talk 14:13, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
How do I do a userspace draft? Is it difficult? Do you think you would be better suited to do so? FrittataOhio (talk) 14:26, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
User:Stemonitis has been helping me to recontribute deleted articles onto Wikipedia. I have been having discussions with him the last few days on how to create legitimate articles, and having them reposted. I have diligently been working on Larry Obhof, who was previously deleted by a banned user. However, I have done what Stemonitis has encouraged and am now ready to have it reposted on the "main page". While he is out of town, he told me to consult with other administrators on having these reposted. Do you think you'd be willing to take a look at my user page and see if it is ready to publish, as well as find an admin for me that is willing to do so? Also, feel free to look at my conversation with Stemonitis. Thanks --FrittataOhio (talk) 00:23, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
- I made a few changes but yeah, it looks fine. Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 00:42, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Could you find me an admin that would be willing to publish that on the name page? I'm having trouble doing so myself. Thanks. FrittataOhio (talk) 13:53, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Garyteacher[edit]
You reverted my edits of KIPP: Lead College Prep Charter School. This school left the KIPP network in July 2011 and is now an independent school: see http://www.kipp.org/schools/school-directory. The current article has incorrect information and links, which I sought to correct: e.g. "Name of Principal: Mrs. April Goble"; "is part of KIPP: the Knowledge Is Power Program, a national network ..."; website "http://www.kipplead.org" (this gives error message 'invalid hostname'), etc. etc. Garyteacher (talk) 23:11, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining. Please leave an edit summary whenever performing an edit that may be considered controversial. Thanks. Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 23:13, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
I left the following explanation: "Tidied up article since school is now independent, no longer part of KIPP network." Could you now revert your revert, or may I do that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Garyteacher (talk • contribs) 23:31, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

ANI vandalism[edit]
It wasn't "unexplained". In fact, it was one of the few vandalisms of that type where the IP put in an edit summary. Anyway, I couldn't resist pointing this out. :-) --Bbb23 (talk) 20:27, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Your revert[edit]
The reason for the revert you made on The Smurfs (film) article should not have been "unexplained blanking of page" because you should use "unexplained blanking of page" on your Huggle reverts when the vandal removes all of page content which makes it empty. When it's away from Huggle that's different. WayneSlam 23:11, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
- The vandal removed the vast majority of the content, blanking the page (save a paragraph or so), do you have a policy link that explains that calling it blanking is wrong? Because I've read around quite a bit and have never come across that guideline... thanks for taking notice though, Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 23:30, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Adriana Ferreyr[edit]
Why has this been locked? I have spent the last month adding verified text to the article, which has constantly been deleted by other users. These other users have continually reverted the article to an unsubstantiated form. They make claims which are patently untruthful. The users who have changed the article have previously been warned about their editing. They have also misrepresented image usage, which has only now been corrected once I informed the rights holder. I implore you to not allow this advertising to continue.
Yours William de Berg (talk) 18:38, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
- Your edits to the article seem malicious towards the person, if you feel that she is unsuccessful, find a critic who says so and you can add that in and attribute the source. The article has been locked because you were edit-warring on it which is strictly against Wikipedia policies. Please do not do so. Thanks, Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 18:43, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
- No, it was not malicious, it was merely representative of the truth of the situation.
- QUOTE "This article and talk page must adhere to the policy on biographies of living persons. - Nothing in the article is substantiated. Its sole source of information is IMDB and Linkedin. These are not verifiable sources of information. IMDB clearly states that biographies are for entertainment only and should not be held as fact. Linkedin is written by the person themselves. NOT reliable sources of information. - IMDB is not a reliable source of information and I am in the habit of removing imdb refs whenever I see them (I can't at the moment because it's locked), but you are wrong about that the entire article is unreferenced (there are 8 other references). Wikipedia is not about the truth of matters, it is about a neutral, unbiased approach towards giving information that is backed up by sources. The fact that you added [sic] "[Adriana Ferreyr is a] bit part Brazilian actress with an unsuccessful business career/" without a source means that you've given your opinion and broken WP:NPOV and not cited any sources, which is why I reverted you. I want to have no part in this edit war however which means that you need to take this up with the people who reverted you before me. Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 19:07, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
- Dear Aranea, All the other sources are themselves sourced from IMDB or Linkedin. And you are correct that I should have referenced the bit part actress and failed business person. My apologies. I am submitting the article for speedy deletion, where I shall present my evidence.
- There are no speedy delete criteria that will support the deletion of this article, if you try that you'll just get it rejected, however you could WP:AfD it? To check to see what others think. If you do so, you'll have to cite a guideline that the article doesn't meet and I'm not sure you'll be able to find one. The actress is notable enough to be kept so I wouldn't recommend going down that road either, but it's there if you want to, Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 19:32, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Ukrainians[edit]
Appeal previously sent to administrators: This issue is known to everyone who had honestly edited the page related to the Ukrainians and Ukraine. Almost to all relevant users, it is clear that the site of Ukrainians is arranged in a way that degrades the Ukrainians. Ukrainians are presented as they are not a nation but multiethnic part of the Russian people and thats open border with fascism on Wikipedia. There is no similar examples when it comes to articles on other nations. Several well known users are persistent in these efforts to show that Ukrainians are not separate nation. At the same time reliable information is deleted and replaced with the interpretations without a source. Almost every trace of Ukrainians in Russia's history has been cleared and lot's of Ukrainian artist referred to only as a Russian (with my respect to Russians). Users of this work are obviously in anti Ukrainian mood to such an extent that they intentionally write untruth or deliberately erase the facts and finaly damage the work of Wikipedia as an objective media. My suggestion is to devote greater attention to articles related to the Ukrainians and Ukrainian culture in general. We should especially pay attention to several users who are falsely presenting themselves as neutral. Their hatred of Ukrainians is obvious and I do not need to name them. They are very familiar with their unhonest work! I hope that administrators will begin to act and punish those users who spread hatred among the peoples!--SeikoEn (talk) 16:24, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Dear Aranea,
On the talk page I argue at length why I first removed but then shortened Woz's text. He has not answered my arguments, but repeated the accusation (insult) of slander. To be honest, IMHO, he is trying to sneak in publicity for some companies. The references are often press release, which may be relevant for some things, but not to ascertain quality and acceptance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.117.10.66 (talk) 17:55, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Motto of the Day Motto Shop[edit]
Hello! My name is Belugaboy, and by now, you and I both have heard of the Motto Shop, and if not, there's a Motto Shop! It's an exclusive place where users can get their own motto to live by on the wiki. It's great, but we're really running slow, in fact, we haven't seen a customer in months. So we thought YOU, the contributors to Motto of the Day, could spread the word to your WikiFriends, heck, order yourself one, whether you have or haven't before. - Hey, thanks for holding it, I'm really busy at the moment, so in your own interest you should probably fail it and I'll nominate it later. Cheers, Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 01:08, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- That's a shame, it wasn't too far off - except maybe for the issues with the references. I've failed but once you've got the time to spare think about renominating. Make sure you've got the time to improve it though, these reviews take a while. :) --Deadly∀ssassin 08:39, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Reverting edit on "List of streets in Baltimore, Maryland"[edit]
What do you know about Baltimore that you you feel qualified to decide what is and is not constructive? 214.13.81.211 (talk) 15:20, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'm fairly sure that I know enough about encyclopaedias to be able to tell that the number of strip clubs on a particular street is unencyclopaedic. If you add such material again, it will be taken as vandalism and you'll risk being blocked. Thank you. Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 15:30, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- It's no less encyclopedic than saying that Wall Street is known as the location of the NYSE. Just because what Baltimore St is known for is something a bit more salacious doesn't make it somehow unencyclopedic. It's not vandalism to simply list a well known FACT about the city. Please don't remove other peoples productive edits because of your personal moral hang-ups. I doubt very many people would agree with your definition of vandalism in this case and support a block on that account. I do intend to replace the information unless you can provide a VALID reason not to. 214.13.81.211 (talk) 20:28, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- You have no source that it is particularly renowned for its strip clubs.
- That type of information does not really pertain to the article and seems very out of place.
- My edit was made over 6 months ago and no-one thought my edit was heinous enough to warrant reversion.
- The statement that Baltimore Street is infamous for its strip clubs is personal opinion, I'm sure it has a perfectly harmless cheese store that a lot of Baltimoreans cherish.
- If you argue this further I probably won't give you my time to respond, so you can take this somewhere else and be rejected there... Aranea Mortem (talk to me) 20:49, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- An unsourced statement isn't necessarily vandalism. I will annotate it with a source when I restore it though. Such as this one: http://americancity.org/magazine/article/arts-culture-sex-city-janis/
- The notes section for the streets on that article is full of such tidbits of random information about the various streets. I fail to see how this particular tidbit is any less relevant than the others.
- Your argument about your edit being six months old is hardly valid, infact it's down right silly. I doubt this is very popular or controversial article and not to many people are looking through the edit history besides people like you monitoring for vandalism. For all you know not a single person on earth has even noticed that edit besides you and I. How about once I put it back you leave it alone for 6 months and see what happens? By your logic if no one else others to remove it will magically become more valid.
- Well I'll see if I can find a source for "infamous" thing, perhaps I'll just tone it down to "known for" or "is the location of" or whatever. These kind of complaints like this and the one about the source should be cause for you to update the statement or a citation needed tag rather than removing the information entirely
- It's clear from your user page here that most of what you do is go around reverting vandalism. I do appreciate these efforts however you should just admit when you've made a mistake. The fact is you mistakenly thought it was just a random act of vandalism with no factual basis and didn't bother to check it out. Which is perfectly understandably, it's bound to happen, but now that I've explained it to you there is really no excuse to continue to try and manufacture some other justification. Most of what you have said in your response to me is either utterly ridiculously or not really defining vandalism. Also do some research yourself on it. This isn't a single cheese shop, Baltimore street has been know for decades as a location of many strip clubs, porn shops, etc. That is what comes to mind when most residents of the city hear "Baltimore Street". That's what defines the character of the entire street and yes, if there were a street with a dozen cheese shops in Baltimore I think that would be worth noting on this article for the same reason. 214.13.81.211 (talk) 21:51, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- It's no less encyclopedic than saying that Wall Street is known as the location of the NYSE. Here is the link to the first nomination, if you can help. The others follow it, and you can add your own ones or improve the existing nominations, of course.
Thank you so very much in advance! –pjoef (talk • contribs) 09:45, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
