Two sections[edit]

Do we need two sections each for Sunni and Shia? I'm assuming one is more important and the bottom is for modern or obscure work. --Zimriel (talk) 19:22, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are Sunni and Shia sections already, in addition to other sections as well. Chongkian (talk) 02:58, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The new ones[edit]

I have added Ayyashi, Qummi, and and Furat al-Kufi. I view Ayyashi and Qummi as important because they're used a lot by Orientalists, and also because they were used a lot by Tabrisi. Also I see that someone else has added Tusi and Safi; Tusi would belong before Tabrisi too.

Re, Safi and Furat al-Kufi: although they are used by Orientalists, they seem not as important to the Shia. Thoughts on including their work at all? Where to put it? --Zimriel (talk) 19:22, 1 February 2014 (UTC); updated 11 Feb.[reply]

Non Islamic[edit]

I see the Ahmadiyya has posted some interpretations here... What about the Toledan Collection? Do Christian interpretations count as tafsir? --Zimriel (talk) 05:13, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have re-added Ahmadiyya Tafasir. I am in agreement with the view that Christian interpretations do not count as Tafsir. However, your comparison of Christian interpretations with Ahmadiyya Tafasir is unfounded simply because the Ahmadiyya self-identify as Muslims and Christians do not, therefore, within the context of an unbiased encyclopedia, Ahmadiyya exegeses would fall in the category of Tafsir. --User:Sirius86 (talk) 22:38, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Converting from vertical sidebar to horizontal navbox[edit]

In the next few hours, I will be converting this sidebar template into a horizontal navbox because of WP:TEMPLATECREEP: all the links here lead to book articles, which usually have infoboxes and sometimes other sidebar templates like {{quran}} and {{islam}}. When combined, all these sidebars take up a lot of vertical space which may give additional problems if there are images in the article. - HyperGaruda (talk) 11:13, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Incoherent dates[edit]

Some dates give the time when the work was written, others give the date of birth and death of the author — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.36.175.217 (talk) 08:33, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
