WP:SHORTDESC recommends a maximum length of 40 characters, and this template currently generates a minimum of 51 characters ("Wikipedia's portal for exploring content related to"). Perhaps it should be shortened. — Goszei (talk) 02:22, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It was easy to remove a dozen characters, although that will still leave the final descriptions (including the portal name) longer than the limit. --RL0919 (talk) 02:35, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have made this apply default lower-case text to the portal name, per WP:SDFORMAT. This will cause some short descriptions to have invalid capitalization; I will fix them. – Jonesey95 (talk) 05:21, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
