Triple Crowns from Negro leagues[edit]

There have now been two attempts to add the pitchers who won Triple Crowns in Negro leagues which are now recognized as major leagues to this template, both of which have been reverted with the rationale that they are not included in MLB's official list. I'm unclear on precisely what list is being referred to here, but in any case I don't think that they should be excluded for that reason. Hatman31 (talk) 16:38, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was referring to [1] which I had not noticed was from 2018. At the same time Baseball Reference still seems to be the only website that merged interleague stats with traditional MLB. Are there any other sources that also consider these official triple crowns?-- Yankees10 00:46, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There doesn't seem to be. There are sources online that discuss Oscar Charleston's hitting triple crowns, but it seems like the pitching version is less discussed in general. That said, do you think it's strictly necessary to have multiple sources before adding them to this template? Hatman31 (talk) 16:47, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just think it'd be best to have at least another one or two because Baseball Reference seems to be the only stats website that merged these stats together. Fangraphs, MLB.com, etc. still have everything separate.-- Yankees10 00:46, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's understandable; this article says that MLB and the Elias Sports Bureau started the process of officially integrating the statistics in 2020, so hopefully they will be available sooner rather than later. Hatman31 (talk) 18:52, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
