9th Airbourne Division[edit]

I can find no record of the 9th and its not mentioned in The Indian Army 1914-1947 By Ian Sumner is there a source that proves it existed ? --Jim Sweeney (talk) 08:50, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Probably consisted of the HQ only, and existed only from 15 March 1944, when 44th Indian Armoured Division was disbanded, to 15 May 1944, when plans to form the airbourne division were put on hold and the HQ assigned as an emergency measure to command 21st Indian Infantry Division.
