This should allow the template to function no matter how "CATEGORY" is capitalized, whether it is all-caps or no-caps or leading-caps, or 1337 or camelcase. This would allow it to function with all the acceptable spellings MediaWiki allows. (thus it will not perform unexpectedly in not allowing valid CATEGORY statements)

Pinging PrimeHunter who has mostly worked on this. I'd rather get their opinion if they think it's a reasonable change or not first. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 03:16, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really see a need for complications. There are 14,000 drafts with "Category" in some capitalization but only 20 [1] with "CATEGORY" which is probably the most common alternative to Category/category. None of them use the template. Another rare way to fool the template is spaces around "Category". All that happens is that a very few drafts may be placed in categories until they are cleaned up. Since leading and trailing spaces are also affected, then just addding regexp for handling those cases, also. It would make the template function with these valid formulations, thus the space formulations, which also seem not overly uncommon in ArticleSpace, work as expected with this template. It seems like minor changes for capitalization and leading and trailing spaces, for conforming to MediaWiki existing functionality. 65.94.170.207 (talk) 22:16, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Agree with PrimeHunter, this is entirely pointless. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:43, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New parameter for which namespace the draft is for?[edit]

Most of the time when you're using this template you want to ultimately move it to the article namespace, but I think it would also make sense to use this template if you're for example drafting something for the project space. I'd suggest adding a |namespace= parameter where you can specify this so that it updates the text. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 11:36, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
