Twin template[edit]

can we get this in a json or csv somehow? Would help with people wanting to generate charts based on the daily and cumulative data. The chart now keeps changing and messing up div/table settings making it hard to consistently poll latest data — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.116.188.91 (talk) 19:34, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

VisualEditor[edit]

@Boud: The visual editor have is by default desactivated on template, yet have been requested by the main author of this data / template and its twin-template (Template:2019-20_Wuhan_coronavirus_data/China_medical_cases_by_province). So I set up a solution for the main editor. I noticed, also, that while the VE link was displayed --namely for 30mins before you removed it-- both myself and another editor edited the template using the VE editor. Several users seems to think it's helping. Yug (talk) 14:08, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so we can give a hint to people who don't know how to find the Visual Editor, but we cannot state that it is easier to use, without presenting a consensus list of advantages and disadvantages. I modified to an NPOV version of the statement. Boud (talk) 19:58, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

confirmed current vs confirmed cumulative[edit]

In the graph Wuhan coronavirus situation in mainland China, is "confirmed current" supposed to mean "confirmed cases of people who have not yet been declared to either have recovered or died"? This requires tracing not only confirmation of an infection, but some sort of registration of hospital status. I think we may need a note to clarify this with whatever the correct explanation is. Correction of death count for February 12[edit]

On February 13, Chinese officials deducted 108 deaths for being double counted. Should we deduct these 108 deaths from the numbers of February 12? [1] Xenagoras (talk) 12:32, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ΔD/Δ(D+R) (daily)[edit]

Suggest removing ΔD/Δ(D+R)(daily) column. The daily change ratio is meaningless and the death rate to recovery rate trend can be observed from other statistics Wikilucki (talk) 16:37, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template issues[edit]

There are some MoS issues with this template.

  1. The date format used in the date column is one the MoS explicitly says not to use.
  2. The formatting of the table causes the text size to be too small - see MOS:SMALLFONT.
  3. The column header text is using title case instead of sentence case - see MOS:HEADCAPS.
  4. The link to Medical state is a pure MOS:EGG example and should be removed.
  5. Some of the header columns, such as "ΔD/Δ(D+R)", use jargon text - see MOS:JARGON.
  6. Some of the headers use a slash ("/") - see MOS:SLASH.

I'd fix these but I suspect all these changes would get a revert. Please note that any article using this template would never get to a FA if it's using this template with these issues. --Gonnym (talk) 08:52, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why was this moved? How about the links that point to the page this was at before?[edit]

When you created a hyperlink on the internet, claiming that some information is there (this updated table of infections, etc.) But then it is moved, many people will think it just did not exists. Not a good idea. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.64.16.57 (talk) 18:59, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject COVID-19[edit]

I've created WikiProject COVID-19 as a temporary or permanent WikiProject and invite editors to use this space for discussing ways to improve coverage of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Please bring your ideas to the project/talk page. Stay safe, --Another Believer (Talk) 18:06, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
