WFAB (Miami)

  • ... that when Miami's WFAB radio closed in 1977, Hispanic shops in Homestead closed for an hour in mourning? Source
    • ALT1:... that staff at Miami's WFAB radio furnished blank station letterhead to an advertiser, leading to the scam that caused the FCC to revoke its license? Source (p28)

  • Article is not long enough, and relies on a single source. Ceoil (talk) 23:23, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
@Ceoil: @Raymie: i persume the hook is pointing to the wrong article per the name in bold and should be WFAB (Miami)?. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 03:07, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
@Ceoil and MrLinkinPark333: Yup, brain fart. I've fixed the hook. Raymie (tc) 03:22, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Looks good, everything seems to be sourced (I can access source for Alt1 but not Alt0) and QPQ done. Recommend using Alt0 because geez, how many radio station scandals are there?! And the more positive story of the reaction seems more interesting in general, and then readers will click to find out why it closed? Kingsif (talk) 01:18, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
I've gotten pretty lucky in finding some of the worst in the last few years... Some truly exceptional ways to fail. Raymie (tc) 01:58, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
Well, if there's a lot of stations out there, some have to, right? Kingsif (talk) 02:30, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but the source says they closed in protest, not mourning. Yoninah (talk) 22:48, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Yup. Blame the headline of the story. We can change that... Raymie (tc) 23:08, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
ALT2: that when Miami's WFAB radio closed in 1977, Hispanic shops in Homestead closed for an hour in protest? Source
  • OK. Hook ref verified and cited inline. Restoring tick per Kingsif's review. Yoninah (talk) 23:29, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
