Marie Dollinger[edit]

  • ... that runner Marie Dollinger represented Germany in three Olympic Games, broke Olympic records and set a world record, but never won an Olympic medal?
  • Comment: Not a self nom

I don't understand the hook. The article says that she won an Olympic Gold in the relay in 1934. I have suggested an alternative alt that would work well on International Women's Day. Would this be OK? You would miss the Winter Olympics, but these are all runners rather than skiers. Victuallers (talk) 21:06, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

  • Um, there was no Olympic Games in 1934. Her 1934 gold medal was in the Women's World Games. She never got an Olympic Medal. I have no objection to using this for International Women's Day, but considering the significance of Marie Dollinger's accomplishments, I'd hate for the hook to focus on her daughter and husband (which is what I see Alt1 doing). --Orlady (talk) 22:01, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Oh my mistake, I read "gold medal" and assumed it was Olympic. I have scratched Alt1 Victuallers (talk) 10:16, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Length and refs are fine for article and hook, no obvious paraphrasing. Pity there is no picture, but nice article. Thanks. I'll move this to IWM Victuallers (talk) 10:31, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
