  • The hook isn't good enough if it is to be appeared on the main page. "50 international goals", people will expect that the page redirects to an important football milestone, such as hat-trick. This article is the list of goals scored by that footballer but the wikilink says it is something like a list of footballers who have scored 50 goals. I strongly oppose this nomination. Plus I think it will better fit in Sunil Chhetri as it is his achievement. Ikhtiar H (talk) 11:51, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
I can give a suggestion for a better hook, "ALT1...that Sunil Chhetri scored 50 international goals in his career, more than any other Indian footballer?". More better hooks can be applied. Ikhtiar H (talk) 04:06, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

Overall: I am confused by the numbering of the goals and the referencing in this wikiarticle. [Issue 1] "50?" The sentence that says "To date, he has represented India 88 times in official matches, scoring 50 goals" has no footnote. The ref for the sentence that says "Chhetri's 50th goal came in his 88th match ...[4]" does not mention "50th". The ref for the sentence "He is also the first Indian footballer to score 50 international goals.[5]" refers to the 47th goal on the list, not the 50th. I think some clarification needs to be added to the wikipage. [Issue 2] "only/first Indian player to do so?" This needs to be more explicitly mentioned on the wikipage. The sentence "His tally of 50 international goals for India puts him in joint 44th position ..." may be tweaked and updated. Perhaps Ref. 7 can be useful. As no other Indian player is on that list, Chhetri ought to be the first and only one so far to score that many goals. I don't question the validity of the hook fact, but the wikiarticle needs to be clearer and rephrased to become better supported with existing refs. PFHLai (talk) 20:54, 7 February 2016 (UTC)

  • This nomination has gone stale. Nominator has not worked on this article ever since PFHLai raised concerns. Two weeks ago, he was notified on his talk page that there are outstanding concerns, which have not been resolved. It is therefore unavoidable that this nomination will now close without the DYK going fowards, unfortunately.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 10:05, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
