  • ... that a young Cincinnati artist, Joseph Mason, painted uncredited plant-life backgrounds for more than 50 of John James Audubon's bird studies (pictured)?

  • Review Good to go! New article, timely nominated. Meets core policies and guidelines, and in particular: is neutral; cites sources with inline citations; is free of close paraphrasing issues, copyright violations and plagiarism. DYK nomination was timely and article is easily long enough. Every paragraph is cited. In passing, I note that I did not have access to the offline sources, but WP:AGF. Earwig's copy violation detector: Joseph Mason (artist) report gives it a clean bill. Hook is very hooky, in my opinion, and relates directly to the essence of the article. It is interesting, decently neutral, and appropriately cited. QPQ done, although article is not yet promoted (not required).
Excellent article! Well sourced, brilliantly executed. I had no idea about this. 7&6=thirteen () 15:33, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Really appreciate that you found it interesting, as I became fascinated by this historical episode when I stumbled across it. A note on the offline sources: I accessed them through Google Books, except for the Richards article, which I got through JSTOR, so it could be checked by another editor with JSTOR access.Alafarge (talk) 15:53, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
No worries. I WP:AGF, and your reputation has preceded you. {:>{)> Cheers! 7&6=thirteen () 15:57, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
