Interesting article, fine 5* expansion on good sources, Spanish sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. I prefer ALT1, thinking the "official hot sauce" sounds tempting. - I'd place the fact about the varieties in the body, with the source, and shorten it for the lead. - Your turn for Le Vin herbé, btw, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:29, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt and CurryTime7-24: Possible concern about a promotional hook WP:DYKSG#F10. What do you both think? Lightburst (talk) 20:15, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for catching that. I struck ALT0, but kept ALT1 as its promo quality is more ambiguous. If needed, the article material may allow for one or two more ALTs that are not inadvertently promotional. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 20:25, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
To me, ALT1 speaks about a past fact, no? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:28, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
I think so, but the wording in the source could also imply that its status is ongoing. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 22:56, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt and CurryTime7-24: Please let me know when the hook is settled. Lightburst (talk) 15:06, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
Please give me until some time late this afternoon (PDT) to clear this up and provide some new ALTs on top of that. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 19:10, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
@CurryTime7-24: it has been a few weeks and I wonder if we are still working on this? Lightburst (talk) 17:41, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
@Lightburst: Very sorry. I've had work pile on me this month. Without further ado, here are a couple of new ALTs that should mitigate concerns about product promotion:
  • ALT2: ... that El Yucateco was the first Mexican brand of hot sauce sold in the United States? Source: [3] "A mediados de los 70, las salsas de El Yucateco fueron las primeras en ingresar al mercado estadounidense." (Translation: "By the mid-70s, the El Yucateco sauces were the first to enter the American market."
  • ALT3: ... that hot sauce maker El Yucateco was the target of labor disputes in 2018 and 2023? (Source: 2018 dispute: [4]; 2023 dispute: [5]) —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 21:00, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: please check out the new hooks. Lightburst (talk) 14:00, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! - I like ALT2 much better, because it specifies "Mexican", - and labour disputes are nothing specific to this company. Striking ALT1 per the concerns, however, if you limit it to the past by some year or range, I'd be open to reconsider. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:13, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
