Copyediting[edit]

Some of the issues are hard to resolve without detailed knowledge of the politics of China in this period. I took this clause out of the first paragraph of the Decline and Fall section, because it makes no sense: after he handed over his work to new delegates of CCP in Comintern Qu Qiubai, Zhang Guotao, who both were in custody for confession of their wrong routes in fact. What work did he hand over? His previous work as a trade union leader? Why would he hand over his work as leader to two men in custody? Did he have them arrested? Who arrested them? If he was in charge, it would seem he had his enemies arrested (and obtained confessions). What does "wrong routes" mean? Wrong thinking?

Communication and propaganda are not mutually substitutable words. If Li was Minister of Propaganda (that was his title), then his work had to do with propaganda. Citations are needed throughout.

The term blindness in the fourth paragraph of the Decline section is difficult to understand, one assumes someone was blind to something - but what? Can't fix it unless the subject of the blindness is known. This is a citation/fact issue, not a copyediting issue.

Fascinating story, needs date of his death, manner of execution, etc., to be complete. These are not copyediting issues, though. Entire article needs a thorough fact review, citations, etc. Contact me on my talk page if further copyediting is needed.Levalley (talk) 22:54, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incoherent nonsense[edit]

This article was incoherent nonsense from the day it was posted, and it remains that way today despite all attempts at copy editing and corrections. As an example, Hanzhiping is an error for Hanyeping, the great mining and iron manufacturing center of Hanyang. It was not an ocean liner company, and there is no source for Xiang working as a mate on any kind of ship; Boorman, Biographical Dictionary of Republican China, does say he worked as a coolie on an ore barge.
