You know, instead of just shouting, you could have moved it yourself... -mattbuck (Talk) 14:57, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- I think this error was just that stupid. It was worth a shout. --عثمان وقاص چوہان 00:21, 23 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Uchohan (talkcontribs)

UNPO as a reliable source about racism in the middle east[edit]

UNPO is a reliable source with regards to human rights allegations, the speciality of this NGO. In particular, it has track record of being respected enough to be a part of UN workshops on the subject. moreover, this has been represented as allegations by the UNPO, something for which the UNPO IS a reliable source for. just like amnesty international, physicians for human rights and other such NGOs are considered a reliable source in wikipedia, UNPO is. To maintain encyclopedic worth, it is customary to state the origin of the claim, as i have explicitly done. MiS-Saath (talk) 05:46, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Israel Section[edit]

.. seems to be politically motivated to me, not to mention extremely poorly written. I didn't remove or edit it since I was unsure? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Souljah1991 (talkcontribs) 04:06, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Israeli section[edit]

the Israeli section is heavily Israeli biased and not neutral at all. I edited some parts but it still needs a major clean up — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kendite (talkcontribs) 01:11, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RfC[edit]

Uh....[edit]

Why are the writings and musings of Historians and Geographers from thousands of years ago presented as "racism" ?

the term racism didn't even exist then..lol....

--Savakk (talk) 04:26, 15 February 2013 (UTC) Totally agree. The name of the article should be 'Xenophobia and Racism in the Middle East'. Polskivinnik (talk) 19:39, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Racism in Suadi Arabia against foreigners[edit]

I deleted out a section about Syrian refugees. it said: "This is partly due to their opportunistic approach and immoral means of collecting money including sex trade in many occasions."

I don't think it abides the Wikipedia Standards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.88.0.153 (talk) 19:03, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I contend that racism towards non-Muslims in Saudi is usually aimed at Westerners. Westerners are in a very privileged position over there compared to Africans, South Asians and East Asians. Please sort it out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Awwaaba (talkcontribs) 14:18, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Racism in Iran in the middle ages[edit]

An IP removed this material, using the edit summary: Absolute nonsense, 1400 year old Geographers can not be racist in the context of when and where they lived. The IP was reverted, and then I took the material back out. I think the IP is precisely right. Here it is, 1100 years later, and we're saying these writers were racist. The problem is that racism is a modern concept, so it's usually anachronistic to assign it as an attitude too far back in time. Also, and more importantly, without reliable secondary sourcing calling these passages racist, it violates WP:OR to say that they are. Just because they sound racist out of context and out of time doesn't mean that they are:

Racist opinions occurred in the works of some [[Persian people|Persian]] historians and geographers: so in the 982 AD, the Persian Hudud al-`alam could write:

<blockquote>''"As regards southern countries, all their inhabitants are black on account of the heat of their climate... Most of them go naked... In all their lands and provinces, gold is found.... They are people distant from the standards of humanity."'' ''About the Zanj: "Their nature is that of wild animals. They are extremely black." About the Sudan: "Among themselves there are people who steal each other's children and sell them to the merchants when the latter arrive."''</blockquote>

[[Nasīr al-Dīn al-Tūsī]] (1201–74), Tasawwurat (Rawdat al-taslim):

<blockquote>''"If (all types of men) are taken, from the first, and one placed after another, like the Negro from Zanzibar, in the Southern-most countries, the Negro does not differ from an animal in anything except the fact that his hands have been lifted from the earth -in no other peculiarity or property - except for what God wished. Many have seen that the ape is more capable of being trained than the Negro, and more intelligent."''<ref>[http://www.colorq.org/Articles/article.aspx?d=2002&x=arabviews West Asian views on black Africans during the medieval era]</ref></blockquote>

Racism in Israel outdated section[edit]

There is a sentence that doesn't make sense. The tense should be corrected to the past tense if the event did take place.
"On 22 February 2007, the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination[12] will consider the report."
