His Concubine[edit]

This is the "popular" version. However it has been pointed out there could be many other reasons. 1) He was Ming and should crush the rebels. He only wanted Manchu help, not let Manchu take over. 2) His father had either been flogged or executed and head hanging outside of Beijing. These could definately lead a man to fight those rebels. I think it is a quite unfair judgement of him put on by Ex-Ming scholars who branded him as a traitor.

I'd also like to ask for a historical source (not a historical fiction) citing his reason of collaboration with Dorgon is because his concubine was captured. It's not unreasonable to see that he collaborated with the Qing thinking that it would give him a position in the new dynasty. Big Wang (talk) 12:37, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When did he declared himself the emperor of a new Zhou Dynasty?[edit]

Was it in 1678 as in this article, or was it on December 1673, as in the Featured Article, the Spanish version of Kangxi Emperor(es:Emperador Kangxi)? Avihu (talk) 20:53, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

he declared himself the emperor of a new Zhou Dynasty in 1678, Hans yulun lai (talk) 13:53, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
to Hans, the picture painting depicts Wu Sangui, not Kangxi, I know it confused me too has he had a Qing imperial dress on, first I thought he looked like Kangxi too, lol, it took me a while to figure it out when I look more closer to the face, Wu has broader jaw bone like that of a tiger :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.221.152.189 (talk) 14:31, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
