Improvements[edit]

I think a few things can be improved here:

Avoid promotional tone. My first thought on reading this was that it had been copied and pasted from their website. As far as I can tell it hasn't but this sounds as if it is very much written in their voice, which is not an encyclopaedic tone.
Get some independent inline references.
Say something about its coat of arms. (Can use this as a reference: http://www.wcsim.co.uk/about/our-history/our-coat-arms/ )
