1948[edit]

We say, "The tournament dispanded in 1949 when the BAA and NBL merged to form the NBA as we know it today." But we show the final rendition was in 1948,

1948 Minneapolis Lakers 75-71 New York Rens

After 1947–48 four NBL teams including the Minneapolis Lakers moved to the BAA. After 1948–49 the NBL and BAA merged to create the NBA. See:

BTW, in the latter article we say the all-black New York Rens were a replacement team in NBL 1948–49, as the Dayton Rens. The NBA did not include them. --P64 (talk) 02:35, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
