Problem about Israel[edit]

The UNESCO World Heritage Committee recognizes Israel as European. However, Wikipedia recognizes it as Asian. To make the matter more complicate, the Old City of Jerusalem was recognized as Jordanian and therefore belong to the Arab States.

So, how are we going to distribute the count in these cases?

State Party[edit]

What does State Party mean in this context? --84.20.17.84 08:43, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering the same thing. Doesn't anyone know? E.G. 09:43, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Presumably, the States which have signed the UNESCO Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Aridd 14:55, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But surely that would be 'States Party', rather than 'State Parties'? Should this not be called 'Table of World Heritage Sites by State'? Pterre (talk) 17:52, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We are in 2008![edit]

¡Actualicen el mapa y la lista! Actualize (I'm not sure if it's called like that) the map and the list! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.179.30.188 (talk) 06:26, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Colours[edit]

I find the colours a bit harsh. Calmer colours would be nice (see GDP maps), both for the maps and the barchart. The colour coding of the bars could serve as an indication of geographic zones, since the lenght already indicates nr. of WHS. Elekhh (talk) 14:32, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the color scale used in the maps does not make any sense - it should at the very least be monotonic! --CAFxX (talk) 16:16, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Something like this ? And SVG format. --Elekhh (talk) 04:42, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect[edit]

the Middle East is listed as "grey", but "grey" is written in pink. Puchiwonga (talk) 08:23, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

World heritage sites divide to five zone but "Iran" couldn't exist in each of them. Although I couldn't find it even in these five zone! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.144.78.6 (talk) 14:05, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

chart prob[edit]

The chart thing is fuskered up when number for Russia is tinkered with. How to fix  ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.65.22.28 (talk) 05:17, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, 23 and 25 are values accepted, but for some reason there is a problem with the 24, the real value of current Russian Sites. While DerechoReguerraz momentaneously leaves it on 23, we should find someone who knows well the program behind the chart, EasyTimeline, version 1.13. Torne (talk) 06:31, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jerusalem - located in an Arab state?[edit]

Israel conquered Jerusalem in 1967, and even before that there was always a Jewish majority there. I lived in Jerusalem for a while and not once have I seen a Jordanian motherfucker around. Jerusalem is part of Israel, deal with it, it's like saying the US is a Native American territory. They lost! though shit. 79.180.192.203 (talk) 13:19, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry. Jerusalem does not belong to this list, because it's not a country. A little higher in the list someone wrote that Israel is a European country? No way. Perhaps they would wish... S.I. Oliantigna (talk) 13:21, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
For World Heritage purposes, UNESCO lists Israel in the "Europe and North America" group. See here.

Redirects to sections[edit]

Just to note, since the reorganization of the regional WHS lists, things like List of World Heritage Sites in Europe#Belgium don't work anymore as there are no such subsections in the Europe lists anymore. Eventually this will be fixed by creating List of World Heritage Sites in Belgium (and similar for other countries). Until then, List of World Heritage Sites in Belgium (etc) should probably be made into a redirect to List of World Heritage Sites in Western Europe, and any link with "#" (which is an ugly way to do things anyway) should be replaced with the redirect page. Incorrect Title or Content[edit]

The title of this article refers to "Table of World Heritage Sites by country", however this isn't what the data is in the table. The data in the table is of "World Heritage Listings". A World Heritage Listing can contain one or more sites. Thus the title of this article and the heading above the table needs to be changed or the data needs to be changed and new article made for "Table of World Heritage Listings by country" Whats up skip (talk) 09:26, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I donot agree "List of World Heritage Sites by country". There are over 1000 Heritage Sites in the world, but this article is not such a huge list. I prefer "Table of World Heritage Sites by country" or "List of countries by World Heritage Sites". But the latter is somehow weird.--Haojian (talk) 10:40, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Links to Country Lists[edit]

I think that it would be very useful to link to the national lists (e.g. List of World Heritage Sites in Albania) directly from the table, either through a new column or by replacing the existing links to the country pages. What is the community view please? Simongraham (talk) 13:03, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

South Africa[edit]

There are 10 sites in South Africa now and it should be added to the list Ebsilva151 (talk) 03:10, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Change the number of Bulgarian World Heritage Sites from 9 to 10. Change the number of Bulgarian Natural World Heritage Sites from 2 to 3.

The number of Bulgarian World Heritage Sites is incorrect. It should be 10, because the number of Natural World Heritage Sites is 3 and not 2. Bulgaria shares "Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe". Add [note 1]. 2001:A61:474:9700:3029:5004:85B5:F7CB (talk) 07:17, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Change total sites for Bulgaria from 9 to 10

The total number of Unesco World Heritage Sites is incorrect. Currently it is 9. It should be 10 (=3+7). 2001:A61:474:9700:9944:972B:9B23:AC68 (talk) 14:28, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
