I created an account, now I cannot find the original home page “Wiki loves monuments” or a “Log In” page. RegimentGunner (talk) 03:09, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RegimentGunner, the main 2019 page on Wikimedia Commons can be found here. To log in, click on the small "Log in" link at the top right corner of any page.

2010 edition and the history of Wiki Loves Monuments[edit]

The session about the history of Wiki Loves Monuments is very strange. It talks about Wiki Loves Art in 2009 and then it moves directly to 2011, as the second edition is inspired by a different contest and not by the first edition of the very same contest... How about the first edition of the contest in 2010 (which is mentioned in the summery but not in the history)? Also an important information is that the contest is not organised by Wikimedia Netherlands nor Wikimedia Foundation: it is an initiative of volunteers and they are not even mentioned. But they are the authors (and engine) of the initiative and it is quite special that such a large international initiative actually started through a community-driven effort, and it was not lead by an institution. I also think the WLM abbreviation is not clear. You can use abbreviations for very well-known ones (such as UNESCO) but WLM is used by the organisers and we can write in the article Wiki Loves Monuments to facilitate the readers. iopensa (talk) 07:37, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
