Reviewer: Racepacket (talk) 00:28, 28 January 2011 (UTC) I enjoyed this article. The first time I drove through the Wheeling Tunnel was in April 1969.[reply]

Hah, my parents were 8 when you drove through for the first time :p. --Admrboltz (talk) 03:49, 28 January 2011 (UTC) We drove from Baltimore MD to Athens OH on the recently-opened I-70.[reply]

  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
You have the opening date in the infobox. I suggest it also be in the text.

The infobox states that this is I-70 and US Route 250, but I suggest it also be in the text.

"new tiles constructed by a German tile manufacturer."->"new tiles fabricated by a German tile manufacturer."
     Done --Admrboltz (talk) 01:57, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"westbound tunnel was closed"->"westbound tunnel was also closed"
     Done --Admrboltz (talk) 01:57, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If the opening date was in 1966, why the category "1967 establishments"?
    Corrected.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Was the tunnel planned as a part of the interstate highway system, or were there long-standing plans which predate the system?
Sources claim this to be the most expensive single contract on the IHS in West Virginia, so I would say that this was just part of the IHS and not any previous plans. --Admrboltz (talk) 01:57, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Any plans at present to improve the tunnel. Fn 17 makes reference to an "incident detection system."
From what I can tell, that has been added, but its a normal safety feature that's present in any tunnel of length nowadays. --Admrboltz (talk) 01:57, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How about reporting the cost of the tunnel rennovation. (Fn 17 says $13.7 million).

  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
    Nice photo which checks out.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
I am placing the article on hold. Racepacket (talk) 01:48, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
