2006 poster[edit]

are they really the matches?

No matches have been announced, vandals do this for every WWE PPV(add in rumored matches). TJ Spyke 20:41, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

has it been confirmed to be genuine?

the poster is genuine. otherwise, it wouldnt have a wwe logo on it, now would it??

WWE normally releses the posters for their PPVs on their magazines, which come 1 month in advance (July issue comes out in June, etc.)... and the people who are subscribed to their magazines receive them even earlier... so it wouldn't suprise me that they already have the poster for Unforgiven.--Andresg770 18:57, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I first saw the poster a few weeks ago when I got an e-mail from WWE. So that is indeed the real poster(unlike the fake Survivor Series posters that have been popping up). TJ Spyke 20:48, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

there is been no anouncment about a tlc match for the title? is that true or just vandalism?

Cena vs. Edge results and need of detail[edit]

Come on. Whoever (TJSpyke) and (3bulletproof) keep on deleting the detail of getting F-U'd off of a 16 footladder onto two tables can you please stop! wat is so wrong with adding detail? Damn yur so stubborn! Every time i add it you guys temperaraly suspend my editing abilities! Damn TJSpyke you dont own wikipedia..—Preceding unsigned comment added by Kings bibby win (talkcontribs)

It's to list how they won the match, Cena won by grabbing the belt(not FU'ing Edge). TJ Spyke 01:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You know what i guess i cant argue with you cause your always right..

Regarding local commercials revealing Spoilers[edit]

This is a big issue that seems to attract a lot of vandalism to upcoming wrestling event articles. The problem being that random people deliberately add matches to the upcoming event's card that have supposedly been announced on commercials aired during RAW, Smackdown!, or ECW. Once these people are confronted about their additions of these spoilers, they tend to use the commercials as their source. The problem is that they do not seem to realize that these promos shown when a WWE broadcast goes off the air during commercials are actually only airing on specific local areas and are NOT in fact being shown nation wide. WWE (at times) unintentionally releases commercials and promos on future events, spoiling matches and sometimes even their outcomes, to the specific local media outlet. This is stupidly done to attract interest from fans in that local area and increase possible attendance and buyrate figures for the upcoming event. The most recent case being the Vengeance DX promo notable for being released in some areas roughly two months before the actual event took place. Only when matches are announced on-screen by talent or during the actual WWE broadcast and NOT during commercials can this sort of information NOT be considered a spoiler. Some may argue, "So what if they aren't shown nation wide, they were still released by World Wrestling Entertainment which means they are legit and therefore all matches spoiled have a right to be added to articles!" Now the problem with that simply is this... It is unencyclopedic. You see, what these people fail to realize is that Wikipedia is NOT, I repeat, NOT a Wrestling News site. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball and therefore cannot provide spoilers on future history or events that have yet to be. Wikipedia is an internet encyclopedia, in other words, it's an ENCYCLOPEDIA. If you honestly feel the need to be an Internet Troll and add content spoiling what has yet to occur (in this case about wrestling), then please do so elsewhere such as... oh wow! ...a Wrestling News site! As best stated on Wikipedia Policy... "Before adding any sort of content, ask yourself what would a reader expect to find in an encyclopedia." ...and I highly doubt that you would be expecting to find out who will be in the main event at WrestleMania 100, even if you do happen to find a promo somewhere right now announcing it to be Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon's grandson. Content such as spoilers, rumors, and other nonsense will be removed on the spot for the reasons just explained. This content simply does not comply with Wikipedia's Policies and guidelines and the addition of it is considered vandalism. Once again, please do NOT add any sort of content that even you would know is a spoiler (spoiling future history and events that have yet to be} and unencyclopedic. If you do in fact feel the need to be an Internet Troll, please do so elsewhere and not on Wikipedia. Thank you for reading and I honestly do hope that this clears up any confusion over spoilers and why they are being removed. Thank you. -- bulletproof 3:16 19:58, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SProtect All PPV pages![edit]

Why not just sprotect this page, the No Mercy page, and pages of other PPVs as they approach? Almost all persons who add rumored matches are those who are unregistered, and if the page were protected, it would eliminate the problem COMPLETELY. Thoughts? AWBricker 21:11, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would love to do that, but Wikipedia's policy does not allow semi-protection as a preventive measure. The page has to start being vandalized for them to consider it. TJ Spyke 21:16, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wouldn't you say that it has? How many times does Edge/Cena need to be deleted before it is vandalism? AWBricker 21:32, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think the admins who decide if a page gets protected thinks it needs to be vandalized frequently(like every few minutes). I am sick of having to remove that so many times though. If you want, you can request semi-protection for it. TJ Spyke 21:34, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. I just added it, so I guess it's up to the admins now. AWBricker 21:44, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No more need to bitch and whine about the TLC Match. I just saw it on WWE.com. Killswithc

Well, online "sources" have been saying it for weeks. It's the principle of it though.

They never said hell in a cell was going to be at unforgiven, please take it down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.241.111.15 (talkcontribs) AWBricker 03:19, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hell in a Cell[edit]

Vince McMahon did NOT say the match would be at Unforgiven. He announced the match but did NOT say when it would happen. That match will just be deleted unless they say on WWE TV or wwe.com that it will happen at Unforgiven. TJ Spyke 03:39, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, Vince and Shane confirmed it was at Unforgiven. At the beginning of the night, Shane said that DX would also find out what was coming to them in three week at Unforgiven. Vince then announced the Hell in the Cell match later in the night. So, you can't remove it, cause for now, it's confirmed for Unforgiven.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Killswitch Engage (talkcontribs)

No it was not confirmed. Vince didn't say it would be at Unforgiven, so we should wait for now. TJ Spyke 05:44, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jesus Christ, you must not have been paying enough attention. Shane comes out, babbles for a bit, then says, and i quote "Later tonight, DX will also find out whats coming to them in three weeks at Unforgiven." Then Vince comes out later in the night, kicks the shit out of DX, and announces the Hell in the Cell match. You must of missed the part where Shane said "later in the night, DX will find out whats coming to them in three weeks at Unforgiven." Then Vince comes out later in the night, and announces the match. Jesus, it's not rocket science.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Killswitch Engage (talkcontribs)

It might have been implied, but it's not confirmed. They didn't say on TV or wwe.com that it will be at Unforgiven. TJ Spyke 06:15, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • That seems a bit nitpicky to me to be honest. I think the real concern is whether it's a standard tag match or a handicap match, with Big Show teaming with the McMahons. MarcK 06:18, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question, how many Hell in the Cell matches have you seen on RAW? ummmm....... o yah, probably none. Where the hell else would they have one? SmackDown? Vince Mcmahon would not waste a Hell in the Cell match on free T.V. He would put it on pay-per-view, which, I believe is Unforgiven.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Killswitch Engage (talkcontribs)

Sign your name Killswitch. I know that it is most likely happening at Unforgiven, the point is that is has not been announced for the PPV yet. TJ Spyke 06:58, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have to sign my name if i don't feel inclined to. This is bs. I have already figured out that you feel you own the page, and anything not ran by you isn't real so......two words for ya.......SUCK IT!!!!—Preceding unsigned comment added by Killswitch Engage (talkcontribs)

Please read Wikipedia:No personal attacks. TJ Spyke 07:04, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well actually there has been a few hell in a cell matches on Raw. I don't know the exact dates, but they did happen. So it's very likely the match could be on Raw and not Unforgiven. But either way: if it's not announced what event it's taking place at, then there is no need to post it for Unforgiven. RobJ1981 07:11, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever, I guess when a stubborn mule has made up it's mind, it's time to move on. Just, if it happens like it should, don't get pissed at me if i laugh and say i told you so.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Killswitch Engage (talkcontribs)

I do think it will happen at Unforgiven, it just hasn't been announced for it. The link you provided even said that, it's assumed it will happen at Unforgiven but not confirmed. TJ Spyke 07:25, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

K, I missed the part where i was arguing with you anymore. You have your fingerprints all over the page, so their is no point in me fighting with you. You practically own the page, so why bother? So, whatever, you hold back other wikipedians while you get the edit glory. have fun glory-hound.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Killswitch Engage (talkcontribs)

Right here on WWE.com "In all likelihood, this match will take place at Unforgiven, but at press time, that was not announced."Overlordneo 08:53, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alright people, we are discussing a FUTURE EVENT PPV...which can include such speculation as matchups etc, given some information. How many matches have been slated for the PPV, announced...confirmed...and not delivered? It happens. Let's add the info about the Hell in the Cell match and add a tag/banner for "Hey this is a future event and things can change". This makes the most sense to me.

I'm sorry, but i just woke up, and to wake up to this bullshit is not doing wonders for my temper. So like I said before you insisted on pressing the issue, I am done arguing with you. The glory-hound americans will get the edit because Canadian's are on a time delay (go figure).

There, now on WWE.com it confirms the match will be at unforgivin. "WWE.com has learned that the Hell in a Cell Match pitting D-Generation X against the McMahons and Big Show will take place at Unforgiven" Overlordneo 19:08, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I told you so. Hahahahahaha. To bad you were wrong on your assumption that it would take place on RAW. "catches breath"....ok then.....hahahahahahahahahahaha.

It wasnt announced for the PPV until this afternoon. It shouldnt have been there until it was announced. You can't assume matches will take place at certain events. If that was the case, I might as well go put Orton/Cena for WM23, because it will probably happen. AWBricker 21:04, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WWE Championship match[edit]

y isnt the stipulation put in? it should say that the loser of the match has to go to smackdown. (btw, in case yall havent realized it yet, edge will be going to smackdown)

Edge won't go to SmackDown if he loses, the stipulation is that if CENA loses he will go to SmackDown. TJ Spyke 03:27, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jeff Hardy match[edit]

Is it true it will be jeff vs nitro for the intercontinental title or is this a rumor.

  • WWE.com says no date's been announced for their match. MarcK 03:39, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just as a further update, the match will take place on the September 4th edition of Raw. AWBricker 23:29, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Carlito vs Randy Orton[edit]

Women's Title[edit]

What happens to the Women's Championship if Trish wins?Freebird Jackson 03:24, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unknown, if they wanted to keep the title then it would have to be vacated. Maybe have a tournament to crown a new champ. TJ Spyke 03:27, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to the latest rumors, Trish is going to win to become the seven time Women's Champion, and yes there is going to be a tournament for the Women's Title that apparently--Melina will win. --Fr3nZi3 16:43, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Protected[edit]

Why wasn't this page just semi-protected? It's just a bunch of anon IP's vandalizing the page, us registered users were just reverting the vandalism and formatting it the correct way. TJ Spyke 03:08, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We don't know who won, especially me since I'm not watching it (don't want to pay). Just wait until the site updates. Mapletip 03:09, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, I'm not a fan of John Cena by any means, but it's nonsense to vandalize the page just because you don't like him. "John Dicka"? What the hell was that? Grow up. Kehbrt 18 September 2006

The 3RR doesn't apply to reverting vandalism. The page as it is now(when it was locked) is the correct results and format and is how the page should look. Cena won the match, and the results are formatted according to the way agreed upon by WP:PW, so the admin who locked it should have only semi-protected it. I am watching it so I do know who won(Cena). I don't like him either, but he won. TJ Spyke 03:13, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
wwe.com has updated to show that Cena won(although anybody who watched the PPV or read the results online) already knew that. TJ Spyke 03:15, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IP address losers[edit]

I love these people who are so lame they cannot be bothered putting posts/editing without logging in and just using their IP address to hide... nuff said - --Mikecraig 01:06, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, that's why if you check my user page you will see that I think registration should be required in order to edit. It makes it easier to take care of vandals since it's pretty hard to stop AOL IP's(due to the fact that they get a different IP every time they log onto AOL). TJ Spyke 01:09, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Im really getting tired of these anon vandals. Iv'e reverted about 4 instances of vandalism by these users over the course of an hour. One of the instances was on this page, where it seems an anti-Cena fan re-edited the page to state that Cena got his ass kicked. Don't they have anything better to do? Killswitch Engage

The Godfather - 1998[edit]

Was Charles Wright using the Godfather name or Kama Mustafa in April of 1998. The article says Godfather but I don't think he was using the name yet. I thought he was Kama until he got kicked out of the Nation later that year. Graham Cawthon's HistoryofWWE.com has him still listed as Kama. [1] G0aT CheEZeY 17:45, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to that same link he was know as Godfather even while still in the Nation. OWW ([2]) has him listed as Godfather at the event. So who knows. TJ Spyke 20:45, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to OWW:

World Wrestling Federation - The Nation:

Charles Wright had a brief absense before returning as a member of the new Nation of Domination, calling himself Kama Mustafa.. October 5, 1997 - Bad Blood: The Nation of Domination (Rocky/Kama/DLo) defeated The Legion of Doom.. January 1998 - Royal Rumble: Kama Mustafa entered the Royal Rumble at #23 and was eliminated by Steve Austin.. February 15, 1998 - No Way Out: Ken Shamrock/Ahmed Johnson/DOA beat The Nation of Domination..

May 2, 1998 - Over the Edge: Owen Hart/D-Lo Brown/Kama Mustafa defeated Triple H & the New Age Outlaws..

From historyofwwe.com

Ken Shamrock, Farooq, & Steve Blackman defeated WWF IC Champion the Rock, D-Lo Brown, & Mark Henry (w/ Kama) when Farooq pinned the Rock with the Dominator at 13:35

Since Unforgiven was in April I'd say he was still Kama. And I wrong, he wasn't Godfather until Faarooq was kicked out of the NOD, and even then he continued to use Kama as well. I checked my April 1998 RAW tapes as well and he is called Kama.G0aT CheEZeY 02:33, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tazz v Jerry Lawler - 2000[edit]

The result listed is incorrect. Tazz won the match, but not by submission. The match was a strap match, which means the only way to win is to touch all four corners in succession. Tazz won after Raven interfered in the match, allowing him to drag Lawler around and touch all four corners. Would it be ok to simply correct this error? HDC7777 13:01, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think you are wrong, here is the description of the match from Slam (a site that used to detail WWE/WCW/ECW PPV results):

"It takes three piledrivers from Lawler to put Tazz on Dream Street. Lawler pulls Tazz around and touches three of the four turnbuckles. From out of nowhere, Raven steps in. Lawler turns around with a look of astonishment on his face. Raven Evenflow DDT's Lawler and splits. The Tazmission is put on and Lawler submits." [3]

Also, a strap match usually requires touching all the turnbuckles. However, there have been occasions where you can also win by pinfall or submission. TJ Spyke

Fair enough. If you go to this link [4] it actually says the match was stopped when Raven interfered, but I know that wasn't the case. OWW says he won by TKO, not submission, as Lawler never actually tapped. But that is a minor difference. Gerwick.net says he did tap out, so I stand corrected.
