Merge of page with draft[edit]

I have created a page which deals with the history of the Virginia-North Carolina IAA -- see Draft:Virginia–North Carolina Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. It is my understanding from my research that the Virginia Conference was simply an outgrowth of this one rather than its own new organization; additionally, I note that a lot of the "bones" of this page are based on the now-defunct CFB Data Warehouse site, which well intentioned, is known to be sometimes flawed. I am interested in hearing any of your thoughts. My preference would be to merge the two pages into one under the original name, but am open to discussion one way or the other. Cnd474747, nice work and thanks for the heads up here. If the "Virginia–North Carolina Intercollegiate Athletic Conference" became the "Virginia Conference", then the content you've drafted should simply be merged into this article, as "Virginia Conference" appears to be the final and most common name for this subject. There are some issues with what you've drafted, specifically in the last two sentences of the history section. You have the Virginia Conference folding in 1933, but I have found sources for Virginia Conference standings for 1933 and 1934 including Emory and Henry, Richmond, William & Mary, and Roanoke as members; see Template:1933 Virginia Conference football standings and Template:1934 Virginia Conference football standings. It also seems that Bridgewater, Randolph–Macon, and Hampden–Sydney left for the Chesapeake Conference before the 1933 football season. Finally, your January 1, 1933 source about Lynchburg College details the dissolution of the school's intercollegiate football program, but doesn't say anything explicitly about conference membership. Lynchburg appears to have joined the Chesapeake Conference in 1933, but there's no evidence they left the Virginia Conference any earlier than Bridgewater, Randolph–Macon, and Hampden–Sydney. Cnd474747, more to the final point about Lynchburg, I found a February 1933 article listing the 1932–33 basketball standings for the Virginia Conference. Lynchburg is listed there as is American. Jweiss11 Thanks. To be honest I just assumed it would've died when half the members left, thanks for doing your due diligence. Updated draft to reflect that. Still confirming continuity. Jweiss11 Finally found the smoking gun(s) I was looking for. One is linked in the article already in the intro section, the other I plan to incorportate -- see https://www.newspapers.com/clip/107904654/the-times-dispatch/ -- says the Virginia Conference had existed for 15 years when it dissolved.
